How to choose the best place to shoot at night in photography?

Usually, when shooting city night scenes or urban traffic, in order to shoot a broader and more spectacular urban landscape, we often choose a higher position to shoot. This location is either an overpass with a slightly higher traffic volume or the top of the tallest building in the city. In some cities with mountains, we can also choose a higher position on the mountains with a wide view. Even if conditions permit, aerial photography is a good choice.

Of course, in some coastal cities, when shooting night scenes, you can also choose a lower position and shoot with the help of water reflection.

When shooting the orbit of a star, we should first avoid the interference of ground light sources. Therefore, in general, star-orbit shooting will be carried out in sparsely populated plateaus, grasslands or rural areas with relatively few ground light sources. Choose these places, one is to avoid light pollution, the other is clear and cloudless at night, and there are many bright stars in the sky, which is very suitable for shooting.

Usually, when shooting light painting, you will choose a place with a dark background to avoid the background light source interfering with the light painting effect. However, when shooting some simple graphics, you can also choose the square in front of the building with beautiful background light, and the specific location still depends on the photography creativity.
