What is language refinement in composition? How can we do that?

Language refinement

First, carefully temper the text, and strive to be accurate and vivid.

Choosing the right expressive words is a good way to add color to the article. Pi Rixiu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, said: "A hundred words are forged into words, and a thousand words are forged into sentences." If you use words well, you can achieve the effect that a word is round. Generally speaking, verbs and adjectives are the most expressive. Here are a few examples to illustrate.

1. "Needless to say, green vegetable fields, smooth stone well fences, tall acacia trees and purple mulberry trees; Needless to say, cicadas sang in the leaves, fat wasps squatted on cauliflower, and the son of heaven suddenly rushed to the sky from the grass. " (Lu Xun's "From a Hundred Herbs Garden to the Moon in Santan") It makes people feel as if they are there, as if they are listening to their voices, as if they are there, with endless aftertaste and catchy words, such as flying pearls and splashing jade.

2. "Grandpa stood under the curved moon and watched his grandson go away." The grandfather in the article is like a sculpture, and the old and affectionate image is vividly on the paper.

3. "He, a quasi-gifted student in the teacher's eyes." The word "quasi" highlights the position of "he" in the teacher's mind, with endless words and endless meanings.

4. "The image of our great motherland appeared in the movie in my mind for the first time." "Photosensitive" is a photographic term, which means that the motherland has been installed in my heart, but it is much better than direct publicity.

5. "The low sky is pressing on my chest, and gloom and depression are tearing at my heart." "Tearing" expresses depression, helplessness, loss and pain, as if my heart is torn by deep red blood. "Pressure", "gloom" and "depression" are used accurately and vividly, and depression is brought to the extreme.

6. "The eyes of bitterness condensed into lines and woven into nets, which caught the footsteps of the class teacher." Write the invisible vision tangible, vivid and unique.

2. Clever use of rhetoric, and strive for vivid images.

Rhetoric, if used well, can turn abstraction into concreteness, boredom into vividness, decadence into magic, and enhance the expressive force and image of composition language.

Take Fortress Besieged as an example to understand how Qian Zhongshu used figurative rhetoric to add color to the article.

1. "She only wears a crimson tube top, sea blue sensual shorts, and red nails are exposed in leaking blank leather shoes ... Some people call her' deli' because only deli will publicly display those warm meats; Others call her "truth" because it is said that "truth is naked" and Miss Bao is not naked, so she changed it to "partial truth." In the sentence, "Deli" is vulgar and "partial truth" is elegant. It is amazing to apply this metaphor to Miss Bao who thinks she is elegant but frivolous and vulgar.

2. "Miss Tang's charming round face has two shallow dimples, and she is born with a good face that women have to spend money and time to adjust their fat and powder to imitate. It's so fresh that people forget their thirst and feel greedy. It seems to be a good fruit. Her eyes are small, but flexible and gentle, which makes many women's big eyes like politicians' big words. " It not only describes the beauty of Tang Xiaofu, but also uses the "politician's big talk" to describe those women with big eyes and no god, which is a unique feature that others can hardly think of.

Only when Fang Hung-chien was attacked by his father-in-law did he realize the importance of diploma. The author commented: "This diploma seems to have the function of the leaf in Adam and Eve's lower body, which can cover up ugliness and shame. A small piece of paper can cover up a person's emptiness, ignorance and stupidity. " It can be described as ironic and spicy, hitting the nail on the head.

4. "Miss Su just came out and smiled coldly, just like holding hands on a cold snowy day." "Hung-chien wanted to be more affectionate when we broke up last year. Holding her hand today is like holding cold-blooded chicken wings." She vividly wrote Miss Su's narrow, dark, romantic and jealous personality.

This metaphor can be seen everywhere in Fortress Besieged. As long as you try to understand it with your heart, you will be amazed at the vividness and maturity of the author's metaphor and gain benefits from using the language.

Let's look at a few more examples.

1. "On the winding lotus pond, the leaves of Tian Tian are expected. The leaves are high out of the water, like an elegant dancer's skirt. In the middle of the leaves, some white flowers are dotted sporadically, some bloom gracefully and some bloom shyly, just like pearls and stars in the blue sky. The breeze blew, bringing a faint fragrance, like a faint song on a distant high building. At this time, the leaves and flowers also trembled slightly, and like lightning, they suddenly spread to the lotus pond. " (Zhu Ziqing's Moonlight on the Lotus Pond) The proper use of rhetorical devices such as metaphor, personification and synaesthesia has written the dynamic beauty and clean beauty of lotus leaves, as well as the harmonious unity of smell, hearing and vision.

2. "The setting sun is like blood, like a knight in a red hat." "The sunset glow falls on the horizon, like a red silk, calling from the ancient bagpipes." This is a metaphor used to write flying murals, which is consistent with the scene and perfectly coordinated.

3. "In the winter vacation of grade three, I was fascinated by web design. I stayed up all night. It can be said that I was possessed, and my mother was furious and ordered to turn off the computer. " Citing martial arts terms and modern neologisms, the sentences are lively and playful.

6. "If the fog on the wall blocks the front of the car, there is a feeling that there is no way to escape. The front of the car collided with the fog quickly, and the sound of the collision could almost be heard. I think we are crawling in a huge cocoon. " The metaphor is novel, exaggerated and bizarre, but who can say it's not true?

3. Create original one-liners and try to be subtle and funny.

According to your own feelings, when you write a composition, you will have a flash of inspiration and write a unique and novel language, which will not only add color to the article, but also make readers admire your uniqueness. Look at the following sentences, which may inspire you.

1. The word "senior three" is very heavy, which I think is heavier than "mountain".

3. The sky is drunk and red. Clouds are messengers of the sky. They pull the wind to sober up, but let the water ripple.

4. Use poetry to quote, and strive to be novel and unique.

Quoting and using ancient poems properly in an article is like dressing yourself up with other people's ready-made clothes. You don't need to spend too much energy, but you can still make yourself radiant as long as you choose properly. Of course, understanding the meaning of the original poem is the premise of quotation and use. Look at some examples.

I saw that the students "all craned their necks to look sideways" and looked at the patrolling old class. We should remain vigilant and cooperate. This exam is really a battle of wits! Finally, when the bell rang to say goodbye to Newton, we seagulls flew out of the classroom. At this time, there were sighs, accusations, resentment and cheers. "Everything is wonderful at once" and "Everything is there" were accompanied by our own adapted ballads: "I have the most homework, and the heaviest schoolbag is me. . . . . . "

The methods and examples mentioned above are intended to give some inspiration to students who write articles and provide some easy-to-operate methods. It is not suitable for everyone, nor for all styles. To write an article vividly, it will not happen overnight. There is also a omnipotent method, that is, observe more, read more, feel more and practice more.
