Difference between closed-loop fiber optic gyroscope and open-loop fiber optic gyroscope

Different structures, different cycle types, etc.

Structure: Single-axis and multi-axis fiber optic gyroscopes are two structural types of fiber optic gyroscopes, and multi-axis fiber optic gyroscopes are one of its development directions. According to the different optical signal processing methods, fiber optic gyroscopes can be divided into open-loop fiber optic gyroscopes and closed-loop fiber optic gyroscopes.

Loop type: Open-loop fiber optic gyro has no feedback, which directly detects the light output, eliminating many complicated light paths and circuit structures, and has the advantages of simple structure, low price, high reliability and low power consumption. The closed-loop fiber optic gyroscope adopts closed-loop control, and the precision of the gyroscope is higher by introducing feedback mechanism.
