When was Roman Holiday filmed? Why are clothes so beautiful?

Roman Holiday is a film directed by William Wheeler and starring Audrey Hepburn, Gregory Peck, eddie albert and Tullio Carminati. It was released in the United States on September 2nd 1953. The film tells the story of Anne, the royal princess, who travels privately while visiting Rome and meets Joe, an American journalist. Joe started by taking pictures of the princess, but in the end he fell in love with her. Anne was tired of royal red tape at first, but after a holiday in Rome, she realized her responsibility to the country, reluctantly abandoned her love and returned to the embassy. The film won the 26th Academy Awards for best actress, best screenwriter (story) and best costume design (black and white) with 1954.
