How to avoid overexposure when taking pictures outdoors with a digital camera?

At present, the metering level of digital cameras is actually quite accurate, but we have to understand a truth. The tolerance of human eyes to exposure value has reached tens of thousands of times, which means that the eyes are actually clear when looking at the dark and bright parts, but digital cameras are not. Its exposure tolerance is only 1.5-2 times, so the control of light-dark ratio is actually very small. Because of this, the accurate metering of our camera is not correct.

Methods: 1. Please be close to the subject when measuring light. When you look through the viewfinder, the sky should not appear. When the camera has the AEL lock exposure function, when you press the AEL key now, the exposure value will be locked. Now go back to your normal shooting position and start shooting. 2. If there is no AEL exposure function, please remember the exposure value of photometry and compensate for overexposure by manually adjusting the aperture and shutter.

Simplification principle: a machine is a machine after all. It can't think like every individual, and neither can photometry. Automatic metering cannot be so accurate every time. Sometimes it is necessary to artificially expose or reduce the exposure of the camera.
