How to use ps to create tilt-shift photos

?1. Choose the right photo. The following is the original picture:

?When choosing photos to create tilt-shift photography effects, you must follow one principle: miniature model photos are usually from a bird's-eye view. So choose photos from a bird’s eye view. It would be better if there are buildings, roads, vehicles, railways, etc. in the photo. In addition, the scope of the photo scene should be reasonable. Even without the added effects, it's not difficult to imagine this photo as a model scene. The photos you choose should be clean and accurately exposed.

2. Enter Quick Mask. After opening the photo in Photoshop, press the shortcut key Q to enter Quick Mask.

Select the Gradient Tool and select the Gradient Tool (shortcut key: G). Check "Symmetrical Gradient" (the 4th icon in front of the Mode menu).

3. Draw a line, draw a vertical line. The starting point is in the middle of the area you want to keep sharp, and the end point is where the image completely transitions from sharp to bokeh. In the example picture, the starting point is on the silver car, the end point is under the street light, and the line is drawn from bottom to top. This line is used to determine the gradient range. After releasing the mouse, a red area (mask) with a gradient will appear on the screen. As shown below.

4. Check the mask. Before proceeding to the next step, you need to check the mask range (red part). The center of the mask should be the area that remains sharp, from where it will gradually lose focus toward the edges.

5. Return to standard mode and press the "Q" key again to exit quick mask. At this time, two parts surrounded by ant lines will appear on the screen. This is the part where the bokeh effect will be created.

6. Enter Lens Blur, select the menu: Filter>Blur>Lens Blur

7. Check the effect and fine-tune the settings. Now you can see the blur effect on the screen. . Photoshop's preset lens blur effect is also good, but it can be improved with fine-tuning. If you are not satisfied with the blur range, you can return to step 4 and reselect the gradient range.

8. Exit the lens blur interface. After setting various parameters, click "OK" to exit the "lens blur" interface.

9. To cancel the selection range, use the shortcut key Ctrl+D to cancel the selection. The ant line disappeared.

10. Hue/saturation adjustment, now it is necessary to enhance the color saturation to emphasize the effect. Models often have bright colors, so enhance the color. Select: Menu: Image>Adjustments>Hue/Saturation (shortcut: Ctrl+U).

11. Increase the saturation, in this example we set the saturation to +40.

12. Turn on curve adjustment. Curves can be used to enhance contrast. Select the menu: Image > Adjustments > Adjustments (shortcut key: Ctrl+M).

13. Adjust the curve. In this example we use a very small S-shaped curve to slightly increase the contrast of the image. Be careful not to overdo it, in fact this step is sometimes not necessary.

14. Completion

The above is the final effect.
