What is the film grading system?

The grading system refers to that an organization divides the products of a studio into several levels according to their contents according to certain principles, and specifies the groups that each level is allowed to face. It has no national legal support, but it is binding within the industry. It only plays a role of prompting the audience, and gives the choice to the audience, who will protect themselves.

American classification system

The classification of the United States is formulated by MPAA, whose full name is "The Motion Picture Association of America" or "Motion Picture Association of America", and its headquarters is in Encino,California. This organization was founded in 1922. Originally, it appeared as a trading organization in the film industry. Nowadays, it is involved not only in movies shown in cinemas, but also in TV home video and other transmission systems that may appear in the future.

The earliest classification system divided movies into four levels, namely G level suitable for all ages; Children should be accompanied by parents or adults to watch the M-level; Children who are not suitable for R-level and teenagers under the age of 21 are not allowed to be X-level. The rating system was revised twice in 197 and 199. At present, it has five levels-

G: (General Audiences All Ages Admited.) The rating system can be watched by people of all ages, which is suitable for people of all ages-there are no nudity, sexual scenes, drug abuse and violence scenes in this level of movies. Dialogue is also a frequent contact in daily life.

PG level: (parental guidance suggested some material may not be suitable for children.) Ordinary level, it is recommended to watch with parents, and some scenes may be uncomfortable. Counseling level, some content may not be suitable for children-movies at this level basically have no scenes of sex, drug abuse and nudity, even if they have time, and in addition, scenes of terror and violence will not go beyond a moderate range.

Several special ratings:

NR U: NR belongs to unrated movies, while U is rated for movies before 1968.

British film classification system

"U" level: ordinary level-suitable for all audiences. In this level of programs, only slight swearing language such as "damn" and "hell" can be used occasionally, and other mild swearing language is rarely used;

"UC" class: especially suitable for children to watch;

"PG" level: parental guidance level;

Grade 12: suitable for adults over 12 years old;

Grade 15: suitable for adults over 15 years old;

Hong Kong film classification system

Level I: suitable for people of any age;

class ii: not suitable for children. R(A) is a restricted (art) movie, which is only for adults over 21 years old.

China film censorship standards

According to the film censorship regulations, our films are prohibited from containing the following contents:

Individual plots, languages or pictures of our films have the following contents, which should be deleted and modified:
