Demographic status:

Ear fox is a common species in the Sahara desert (Harrison &; Bates 199 1). The only record of its population degradation comes from the Sahara region of Morocco. In the1960s, this species disappeared from four sites, all of which were desert areas near permanent human settlements (ASA & amp; Cuzin 20 13).

In addition, the phenomenon of hunting and selling black-eared foxes in North Africa is still common; From 20 10 to 20 15, investigators often met during their field trips in Chad and Niger. In view of this, it can be inferred that the population of the ear fox is still relatively rich. In southern Morocco, the ear fox often appears in all desert areas far away from human settlements (ASA & amp; Cuzin 20 13).

Through a large number of monitoring and capturing studies in central Chad, it is found that the auricular fox is the species with the highest photogenic rate, and it appears in 32 of 94 photographic capturing points (north latitude 14.5) (M.Hassan, T. Wacher &: J. New Bypers. Comm.2015).
