As a photographer, do you put your own watermark when sharing pictures?

My habit is to add a copyright watermark, which has two main functions.

First, brand promotion.

As a photographer, it is very important to manage your own brand. The more famous you are, the higher your business value will be. Dare to pursue fame and fortune boldly, don't be shy. With fame and fortune, your value can be better reflected.

Take me for example, I am a photographer from the media, mainly sharing skills and methods about mobile phone photography. If I earn more money, it means that what I share has been seen by many people, and my knowledge and experience have helped more people.

In addition, the tax threshold for manuscript fees is 20%, and the more money you earn, the greater your contribution to society. Moreover, the tax part is paid by major media platforms. You have no chance to evade taxes like a star, hahaha.

That's a little far. Let's go back to watermarking. The copyright watermark on the work still plays a certain role in expanding the author's popularity.

Second, copyright protection.

With the copyright watermark, the works still have a certain effect on copyright protection. Although piracy is still very serious now, some of my photos, including articles, are often copied. However, all major platforms are paying attention to the protection of originality, and I believe that the whole society will pay more and more attention to the protection of intellectual property rights.

Of course, in addition to adding copyright watermark to photographic works, we must keep the original works. In the case of copyright disputes, original works are the best evidence.

In addition, if someone or organization wants to use your work, they can also contact you through copyright watermark.
