How to use the infrared filter of the camera?

What does the camera infrared filter do? Let's take a look at Bian Xiao's sharing today.

1, the infrared filter uses this characteristic of infrared rays to let only long-wavelength infrared rays pass through and filter out short-wavelength ultraviolet rays and visible light. Block visible light and let infrared light pass through. A camera with night shooting function is to remove this ICF through a mechanical device, so that the CCD can fully receive infrared rays.

2. The appearance of infrared filter shows that the vitreous body is completely opaque and black. Because what we can see with the naked eye is only a very small part of the whole electromagnetic spectrum, that is, the visible light region, and actually there is light that our retina can't perceive.

How to use the infrared filter of the camera?

1. Before infrared photography, prepare the equipment: digital camera, tripod, cable releaser and our infrared filter.

2. Adjust the custom white balance of the camera. Select the camera manual exposure mode, focus on outdoor green plants, install infrared filters, and take standard proofs as custom white balance. If the 720nm band is used, the blank area in the photo will be amber, and the green plants will turn white or light blue.

3, in the process of shooting, try to use a tripod, because the infrared filter will make the exposure time relatively long, in order to get a clear impact, you can use a tripod combined with cable.

4. Because infrared light will shift the focus of the original visible light, the specific steps should be: setting the white balance of the camera, taking off the infrared filter, framing and composing, screwing on the infrared filter, and manually moving the focus back and forth. Finally, the exposure time required for shooting needs to be repeatedly operated according to different cameras and different infrared filters to get the basic rules.
