Method for authenticating the authenticity of archived digital photos

From the perspective of digital photo file management, due to the particularity of digital photo identification, in fact, this kind of verification software similar to Canon's and the photo security archiving transmission system of IBM Tokyo Research Laboratory are not suitable for archivists to do the identification management of digital photos, which requires more in-depth and effective bold attempts and scientific exploration. Therefore, on the basis of reviewing the "metadata" of archived digital photos Exif, combined with the practice of directly analyzing and identifying the images of archived digital photos, the authenticity of archived digital photos can be judged more comprehensively and effectively.

(1) First, check whether there are traces of technical processing such as splicing and composition in the archived digital photos. No matter how high the computer technology is, no matter how realistic the photos are, no matter how difficult it is to find their flaws and loopholes, there is always a certain performance, and it is impossible to be absolutely perfect. Enlarging the image of the photo frame, checking the edge of the image and finding out whether there are synthetic traces should be an effective way to identify the authenticity of the photo. Therefore, it is necessary to carefully analyze and inspect the different details of the image display in the photo screen, and find the clues of the fake photos through the analysis of the image detail characteristics.

(2) Re-analyze whether the picture composition is reasonable. Counterfeiters often use techniques such as adding, replacing, modifying and digging holes. 3) Distinguish whether the detailed elements of the image are abnormal. Practice has proved that it is also a very effective method to identify the authenticity of photos by carefully examining the details of photos and images, especially those perfect photos and images. 5 concluding remarks

We should be soberly aware that it is really difficult to identify the authenticity of archived digital photos at present. If an authentication program can be developed in the future, which can filter and prompt the photos modified by the computer, show the degree and amount of changes with different signals, and even restore the true colors of photos to a certain extent, we will no longer worry about authenticating the authenticity of archived digital photos.
