Why do most photography assistants only recruit boys?

Photography is a very hard industry, and there are many things to learn.

First, photography is usually on weekends and holidays, and we are very busy when others are on holiday. This is the first one.

Secondly, there are many instruments in photography, which need to be moved and carried, and sometimes assistants need to carry them by hand when lighting.

Third, location shooting will expose people every summer, so women are generally not recruited.
