Brief introduction of dream interpretation works
No matter whether the youth version of Peony Pavilion is staged in society or on campus, another unusual phenomenon is that it attracts the attention of a large number of professors, scholars and experts, whose professional operas, dramas and literature and art are different. As usual, a seminar will be held immediately after each campus performance. Scholars, experts and graduate students have made speeches to discuss the youth version of Peony Pavilion: some are positive, some are appreciative, some are suggestions and some are critical. A professor told me that drama can
There are not many precedents that have caused so many scholars and experts to study seriously. At the beginning of July, 2005, Suzhou University held a two-afternoon seminar for the tour of eight famous schools of the youth version of Peony Pavilion. Participants came from Beijing, Tianjin, Nanjing, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other places. In addition to professors from eight prestigious universities, there are scholars from the Institute of Literature and Art of China Academy of Social Sciences, Shirley Institute of Academia Sinica of Taiwan Province, Shanghai Theatre Academy, East China Normal University, and several others are scholars.
World heavyweight drama expert. The two-day discussion deeply touched all aspects of the youth edition of Peony Pavilion. However, it is worth noting that these scholars and experts have reached a consensus that the successful performance of the youth version of Peony Pavilion has gone far beyond a drama and a Kunqu opera, and has become a "cultural phenomenon" worthy of in-depth discussion in academic circles. Some scholars even think that this may be a harbinger of China's "revival" in the 2nd/kloc-0th century. At the end of the meeting, scholars and experts signed a proposal, hoping that Kunqu opera, which was rated as "oral intangible cultural heritage of mankind" by UNESCO, could be included in the higher education system as an important subject of traditional cultural education in China.
A Dream collects the most direct reactions and innocent voices of young students from eight famous schools after reading the youth version of Peony Pavilion, as well as in-depth research papers by scholars and experts. Of course, this book also records some reflections of the original class after the tour of the youth version of Peony Pavilion in the past two years, as a summary. Dream of Dreams also collected a number of exquisite stills, all masterpieces of photographer Xu Peihong, selected from more than 10,000. Xu Peihong has been filming since the rehearsal of the youth version of Peony Pavilion, and made a fairly complete video record of the whole performance. He knows drama and actors, so he can capture the most wonderful scenes of drama and the most beautiful gestures and expressions of actors in an instant.
Peony Pavilion is the masterpiece of Tang Xianzu, a great playwright in Ming Dynasty. It is the legendary national beauty. After it blooms, it has a magnificent structure, tortuous plot and exquisite lyrics. It has been my dream for many years to compose and perform Peony Pavilion, which shows the overall spirit. This time, the youth version of Peony Pavilion, created by cultural elites from three places on both sides of the Taiwan Straits and performed by Suzhou Kun Theatre in Jiangsu Province, finally made my dream come true.
