Overview of Wenchang Lake

Wenchang Lake, formerly known as Mengshan Reservoir, is located in the middle reaches of Fanyang River, a first-class tributary of Fu Xiao, in the former Mengshui Town of zhoucun district, Zibo City and Shangjia Town of Zichuan District, with a controlled drainage area of 288km2 and a water area of about 65km2. 1958165438+1October 4th1July 2nd1,with a total investment of1200,000 yuan. The main projects are: dam, spillway and water conveyance tunnel. The total storage capacity of the reservoir is 90.25 million m3, the designed irrigation area is 96,800 mu, and the annual water supply is 56,543,800 m3. It is a national key medium-sized reservoir for flood control, irrigation and industrial and agricultural water supply. The main project includes three parts: dam, spillway and water conveyance tunnel. The dam is a gravel sand shell clay wide-core wall dam. The reservoir flood control standard is designed according to the once-in-a-century flood and checked according to the once-in-two-thousand flood. The limited water level of Wenchang Lake in flood season is 82.3 meters. Due to the importance of geographical location, Wenchang Lake, which was originally a medium-sized reservoir, was managed as a large reservoir.

Wenchang Lake once carried out large-scale fishery culture. At the largest scale, there were more than 3,000 cages in the reservoir. However, due to excessive fish farming, it has brought great ecological damage to the reservoir. For the purpose of ecological protection, Wenchang Lake has stopped cage culture. In recent years, the mountain vegetation conditions on the east and west sides of Wenchang Lake are poor, and a large-scale ecological greening project has been implemented in Wenchang Lake. At present, the vegetation coverage in the nearby mountainous areas has been greatly improved. Throughout the year, it has become a good choice for all kinds of people in the surrounding areas to enjoy the cool, rest, eat and fish, and it has attracted the praise of photographers.
