This is a variant of Diwanghua, called Diwang.

Protea cynaroides, also known as Putia flower, is the national flower of South Africa.

Perennial evergreen shrub with many flower stems. Its flower is actually a flower ball with many stamens and huge colorful bracts around it.

The diameter of the flower ball is 12 ~ 30cm.

The diameter of the flower ball varies from 12 cm to 30 cm. In a growing season, a big and stout king flower can produce 6- 10 flower balls, and a single plant can produce 40 flower balls in a growing season. The color of flower bud leaves ranges from milky white to deep red. The stems are thick, the leaves are shiny, and the plant height is about 1 m when mature.

I like warm, slightly dry, sunny environment, not cold-resistant, should be cold water, avoid stagnant water, and require loose and well-drained acidic soil. The temperature in winter is generally not lower than 7 degrees, and some varieties can tolerate about zero degrees. The soil for planting seedlings needs to be well drained. During the growing period, there should be a cool and dry climate in summer and proper shade under the scorching sun. The suitable growth temperature is 27 degrees, and warm and sufficient sunshine and slightly higher air humidity environment are needed in winter.

Diwanghua is an evergreen shrub with lush foliage, large flowers, tall and straight bracts and petals, unusually beautiful colors and long viewing period. Suitable for potted plants, it is also an excellent material for cut flowers and dried flowers.
