How to shoot the scenery outside the plane window

Lead: For those lucky enough to travel by air, do you want to take excellent photos? The scenery outside the window? For photographers who have never been on an airplane, it is also a good thing to know the skills of shooting on an airplane in advance. When you have a chance to fly, you won't be at a loss. Here are some shooting techniques:

People often make the mistake of sticking the lens directly on the window glass, hoping to reduce the reflection and shoot more smoothly. This may help to reduce reflections, but sometimes the camera will shake because of the vibration of the plane. There is a better strategy. If you are using a digital SLR camera with a suitable lens, put a hood on the lens and try to get close to the window, but don't touch it. In addition, you can also put your hand around the lens to reduce the reflection.

Of course, for high-quality aerial photography, you need an open window and a suitable height. But most people don't have this condition. Sitting by the window of the plane is their best choice.

1, switch to manual focus.

Shooting through glass often blurs photos (most aircraft windows are made of two or three layers of glass), so switching to manual focus mode and locking the target can help solve this problem.

2. Shoot at the beginning of the flight.

After a long flight, the window often freezes or condensed water appears. Shortly after the plane took off, the windows were still clean, which was the best time to shoot.

3. Wait for the plane to tilt

It is difficult to photograph the ground on the plane (due to the size and angle of the window), and the inclination of the plane after takeoff and before landing provides a rare opportunity to photograph the ground. The key is to be prepared and act quickly, because this moment won't last long.

4. Turn off your flash.

First of all, it has no effect on your photos (the flash will have no effect if it exceeds a certain distance); Secondly, it will strengthen the reflection of glass.

5. Choose a point of interest

Sometimes the scenery outside the window looks spectacular, but it looks empty and uninspired in your photos. Look for interesting points to make your photos more vivid. It can be a wing, an airplane engine, a pile of clouds, other airplanes, coastlines, sunsets, etc. It can even be something from an airplane.
