How do you evaluate the documentary "Train Home"?

"The Return Train" is the first feature film directed by Li Xin. I have shot documentaries for several years before, but this is the first time that I have made a film that is embedded in the lives of the subjects for a long time. The beginning of the filming was full of frustrations. We always ran into obstacles. The bosses of the garment factory were determined not to allow us to enter the factory for filming. Every day we wandered outside the factory. Li Xin tried his best to explain to the factory owner that filming was harmless to them, but it had no effect. Lao Zhang and his wife are honest and kind-hearted rural people, and various comments from others will often make them think of stopping filming. So we spent more time dealing with various relationships than shooting. Under such pressure, Lixin can always relieve the anxiety of the entire team and build confidence at critical moments. We talked with the boss of our daughter Zhang Qin's factory for four days, had dinner three times, and got drunk twice, and finally got permission to shoot for two hours. All the scenes of Zhang Qin's labor in the factory were shot within a small amount of time.

In the second year, we came to the factory with the film we had edited the previous year. The boss nodded after seeing it, so we were free to shoot in the factory. The filming in 2008 was the most important part of "The Return Train". When we started shooting, we tried to make friends with everyone, listen to them, and understand them. Even if there was nothing to film, the sound recordist and I would stay on set so they could get used to the cameras as quickly as possible. In the end, the boss didn’t shy away from our camera even when he paid his wages. The separate recording system gives me and the sound engineer a lot of space. Sometimes the sound engineer finds wonderful dialogue and can record it proactively before the photographer has time to react. In this film, the sound provided a lot of help to the integrity of the storyline.
