Tom tykwer was born in Wuppertal on 1965. Peter Pan should be the first film in his life. He said that when he was young, he dreamed of creating a magical parallel world, which was the source of inspiration for his creation. He said that another important experience of movies is watching King Kong. At the age of 9, he realized that movies were human works. This special film aroused his love for this kind of thriller. Movie beginners

Tikwei 1 1 started to create eight films. His pure interest drove him to adapt his favorite movies. He readily admitted that he had been trapped for a long time and his friends were very cautious. Accumulated experience

It was not until he met the filmmaker Rosa von Praunheim that Tikwei firmly decided to make his own film. Rosa von Praunheim actively persuaded him to extract stories from his own life experiences. He once asked Tikwei to record the dispute with his girlfriend in an exaggerated way and then make it into a short film. Because (1990) was shown at the Hof Film Festival, the audience responded with laughter and empathy. This unexpected reflection has become a turning point in the young director's career. Another short film Epilog (1992) got him into a debt crisis, but it also gave him and photographer Frank Griebe a lot of technical experience.

Tikwei, together with Stefan Arndt, wolfgang becker and Dani Levy, established X Film Creation and Production Company in 1994. Although he is working with his girlfriend Franka Potente on his next project. There is no star in The Princess and the Warrior, which was filmed in his not spectacular hometown. He received an invitation from a French company to shoot a 10 minute short film called "JET'AIME Project Compilation in Paris". It is located in one of the 2 1 districts in Paris, and it is related to love. However, Tikwei wanted to make a movie about the end of love, and the theme penetrated into his own life. In August 2002, there was almost no pre-production time. He, Natalie Portman, melchior Beslon and a team soon filmed the true story in a Parisian cafe.
