Last June, we students who grew up in particularly difficult times walked out of high school, "just classmates and teenagers, in full bloom", and went their own way to a long life. Today, May 25th, 2002, thirty-eight old classmates got together again after thirty-nine years. At that time, Class 3 of Yixing No.3 Middle School had 55 students when it graduated, except for being drafted into the army and leaving for other reasons. Thanks to the world-famous Yangtze River Bridge and our old classmate Wu Shengdong, the commander of the bridge project. Now he is a grizzled bridge expert, senior engineer and deputy director of the Communications Department. Although he was responsible for heavy engineering command, management and reception tasks during the day and had to work overtime until late at night, he did not forget his old classmates who studied hard 39 years ago. He invited his old classmates to the bridge twice to relive their old dreams. On one occasion, 1998, 12 September, nine students from Yixing were invited to the Jiangyin Yangtze River Bridge, which was about to be completed. This time, please invite more old classmates to the Runyang Yangtze River Bridge in Zhenjiang, specifically stating that you should invite old classmates who have struggled in the countryside for a period of time. It's really good! This morning, he arranged a special car to take everyone to Zhenjiang Runyang Yangtze River Highway Bridge Construction Headquarters.

Forty years, not long, is just a moment in the long river of history; It can be said that it is not short or short. How much has the world changed in the past 40 years? Students live far apart, the young man has become a white-haired old man, and the girl has become a wrinkled yellow-faced woman! Among us, the oldest is 62 and the youngest is 58. In the past forty years, four students in our class have passed away from this world.

In 1998, when the country was suffering, the college entrance examination was very difficult. There are 10 people in our class admitted to the university, which is the highest admission rate among the four graduating classes. Some students who failed the exam joined the army as soldiers, some returned to their hometowns to farm, some became barefoot doctors, some became teachers, some became female cadres, some married men and ran away from home ... Today, old classmates came together to find dreams and relive the old dreams of the sixties. They come from Beijing, Shanghai, Huaibei, Nanjing, Wuxi ... From the tall buildings in the city, from the land in rural Yixing ... In order to find their dreams, Xu Hongxian, a classmate who missed the shuttle bus for some reason, took a taxi from Yixing to Zhenjiang and turned a corner to find the bridge headquarters. Get together and stare, hold hands tightly, be pleasantly surprised and burst into tears. Many people have not seen each other for ten years, but they are strangers! How difficult it would be to get together with so many old classmates after so many years if it weren't for the tangible bridge and the invisible heart bridge! In the conference room of the Bridge Building Headquarters, students reported their "homes" in order, just like the movie flashed back to 39 years ago. Although everyone only condensed their long history in two or three minutes, this seemingly calm speech contains waves splashing and rolling the river, impacting everyone's mind, splashing and falling together. Thinking of the students who are still in a very difficult situation, everyone's heart is even more difficult to calm down. Yuan Xinjun is not married and has no family. He works as a doorman in the property management of a residential area in Nanjing. He can't leave and can't come. Wang Yong, like my deskmate, is a simple farmer. Every day, he went to the streets to sell vegetables to make a living, but he didn't come. Shao Gendi worked as a coolie to earn money every day, and didn't want to give up his meager income easily, so he didn't come ... Some students couldn't attend because of the long journey. Some rural students, especially female students, inevitably feel inferior due to environmental factors, but they can have several dreams in life and friendship is like brothers. It's best to relive the old dreams. Pan Shouying sent a copy of "Dear graduation photo" filmed in June 1963 to everyone. The original photo has been yellowed, but it is still clear after remake. I am ashamed to say that I can't even get a dollar because my family is poor. I didn't take this picture. When I first got it, the 38 faces of the party were almost unrecognizable, and everyone was "seated" by the ranking on the back of the photo.

At the gate of the headquarters building, 38 students basically maintained their posture 39 years ago (only because of some minor adjustments in height) and left that historical moment again. Running water cannot return, time does not return, and after this moment, it will be left as a memory forever. Xu Yifen still keeps the seating chart before graduation. I wrote my name on that table. This table is so precious that it can be sent to the museum. So after copying, I will give everyone a copy, together with the address book, as a permanent souvenir.

At the party in the evening, there was a lot of money. You blessed me with laughter, joy, greetings and toasts. When I am in the mood, I will sing a song, and I will go on stage when you finish singing. Couples return home, bid farewell to their comrades-in-arms, spend the night in the grassland, come back from filming, and make friends with young people ... songs, operas, solos, cappella, backup singers, Beijing opera and tin opera. Tang Ning settled in Nanjing with her husband after retirement. Usually it is songs that push emotions to a climax, and the warm and harmonious atmosphere deeply touches the waiters in the store. They couldn't help singing with exciting beats and high-spirited tones.

Back to the hotel, the bright moon shines in Kyushu outside, and the room is full of laughter. Five or six people, a dozen people sat together and talked about their life experiences for decades. From the hardships of starving, steelmaking and supporting agriculture as a teenager, this paper talks about how to wander, wander, struggle, stand, survive and develop after entering the society. Talking about the whereabouts of teachers from the changes of schools; From unit to family; From my hometown to home and abroad ... tonight is a sleepless night, and my old classmates happily realized one dream after another. We feel sorry for the students who died young, and we also feel sorry for the students who were unable to participate in this activity for some reason. After a 40-year absence, once we get together, we have mixed feelings of sadness and joy and endless stories. The bright moon was in the sky (it happened to be the 14th day of the lunar calendar), and the breeze Xu Lai and Yuhuan clarified. The Jinshan Temple with a pillow stands quietly by the river, and the Buddha's light permeates the universe day and night. The Yangtze River is mighty and indomitable, quietly heading for the sea. There is a clear whistle from time to time on the river.

Lying in bed, looking up, I found that the moonlight bowed its head and thought about life, like a river. More than 900 years ago, Su Dongpo, a great writer, lamented in Chibi of the Yangtze River: "Flying into the sky is a drop in the ocean, mourning my life and admiring the infinity of the Yangtze River." It's infinite, and life is just a passer-by. Looking back 39 years ago, I crossed the river from Zhenjiang Pier 7 to Yangzhou to go to college, and now I have retired and returned to my hometown. Tomorrow, our old classmates will go their separate ways, and all good things must come to an end.
