Cardiopulmonary resuscitation combined with AED to save sudden death has a chance

When the weather gets cold, the number of people suffering from heart disease increases obviously. However, in the process of first aid, due to the low utilization rate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and stupid electric shock AED, many patients with severe sudden death often die before being sent to hospital. Therefore, doctors suggest amending the law as soon as possible, strengthening AEDs in public places, and incorporating training courses on AEDs and cardiopulmonary resuscitation into formal national education, so as to improve the effectiveness of critical first aid and stay away from death.

Ma Huiming, an attending physician in the emergency department of National Taiwan University Hospital, pointed out that cardiovascular disease is the main cause of sudden death, and symptoms such as chest tightness and palpitation often appear in clinic. At the same time, we call on all sectors of society to include aed in future public welfare and charitable donations, so as to make the positioning of aed in Kaohsiung more dispersed and complete and build a safe living environment.
