Cardiopulmonary resuscitation combined with AED to save sudden death has a chance

When the weather gets cold, the number of people suffering from heart disease increases obviously. However, in the process of first aid, due to the low utilization rate of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and stupid electric shock AED, many patients with severe sudden death often die before being sent to hospital. Therefore, doctors suggest amending the law as soon as possible, strengthening AEDs in public places, and incorporating training courses on AEDs and cardiopulmonary resuscitation into formal national education, so as to improve the effectiveness of critical first aid and stay away from death.

Cardiovascular diseases easily lead to sudden death, and chest pain or palpitations often occur. Be careful. (Photo/Huang Zhiwen) The combination of CPR and AED is a good way to survive.

Ma Huiming, an attending physician in the emergency department of National Taiwan University Hospital, pointed out that cardiovascular disease is the main cause of sudden death, and symptoms such as chest tightness and palpitation often appear in clinic. In Taiwan Province Province, about 80% of sudden deaths occur at home. Therefore, family members with a history of sudden death or unexplained syncope should actively carry out regular health checks, or consider installing a defibrillator indoors to save lives through electric shock.

At present, China people's education and publicity on CPR and AED stupid defibrillators still need to be strengthened. Take an aed that should be placed in a public place as an example. There are only 1.7 sets per 654.38+10,000 people in Taiwan Province province, which is 6 times that of Taiwan Province province. Moreover, every Japanese child has been trained at least three times, but many people in Taiwan Province Province don't even know what an AED is, let alone emergency treatment for sudden death.

Clinically, it is found that if the sudden death can be immediately shocked within 1 minute of cardiac arrest, the success rate of restoring heartbeat will be as high as 90% with cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and once the cardiac arrest1minute, it will cause brain death. Therefore, there is still a lot of room for efforts between * * * and the people to save sudden death.

Kaohsiung Health Bureau actively promotes AED first aid for fools to get an electric shock, hoping to reduce the regret of pre-hospital death. (Photo courtesy of Kaohsiung Health Bureau) The location of AED needs to be spread.

Wang Xiaoxing, medical director of Kaohsiung Health Bureau, said that when adults suddenly lose consciousness or have cardiac arrest, the most common cause is ventricular fibrillation. If CPR can be implemented immediately, blood perfusion of the heart and brain can be maintained. However, if we want to turn ventricular fibrillation into normal rhythm, we still need to rely on automatic external cardiac defibrillator (AED, commonly known as idiot defibrillator) for electric shock.

According to the statistics of "Medical Quality of Emergency Rescue for Patients with Cardiopulmonary Function Stop before Hospital in Kaohsiung City", on average, more than 200 patients with Cardiopulmonary Function Stop before Hospital are taken to the hospital by fire station ambulances every month, of which 20% have a chronic history of heart disease, and most of them are indoors, accounting for about 78%, but only 10% are given cardiopulmonary resuscitation by bystanders.

At present, it is known that there are 36 AEDs in public places or enterprise places in Kaohsiung City, except fire station ambulances. There is still considerable room for improvement. The Health Bureau encourages private enterprises to adopt or lease AEDs, and will provide free education and training of "Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation +AED". At the same time, we call on all sectors of society to include aed in future public welfare and charitable donations, so as to make the positioning of aed in Kaohsiung more dispersed and complete and build a safe living environment.
