Xu 19 16 was born in Caishen Lane, Miaoqiao Street, Tongxiang Town. He took part in the revolution when he was young. 1937 Participated in the Eighth Route Army in Taiyuan and went to Yan 'an via Zhou Enlai. During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, he galloped in the Liberated Area of North China and filmed documentaries and photos such as Yan 'an and the Eighth Route Army, and Peng Commanded the Hundred Regiments War. After the national liberation, he became the leader of news films and was one of the founders of news documentaries in China. He has participated in the production of documentaries such as "Liberation of China" and "War to Resist US Aggression and Aid Korea" (the first series) and won many awards internationally.
Since Yan 'an period, He Xu has left us a lot of documentaries and photos with historical value by using cameras and video cameras as weapons. After retirement, the two old people decided to donate more than 2,700 precious films, photos and collections they created in their lifetime to their hometown. Based on the feelings of these two old mulberry trees, Tongxiang Municipal Government decided to build the first photography art museum named after photographers in China, which was officially opened to the public on 1993 12 10.
The Museum of Photography has two floors, with a building area of over 600 square meters. It has two exhibition halls, Yan 'an and Taihang Mountain anti-Japanese base areas and 196 1 from the early days of the People's Republic of China.
Among them, Mao Zedong's and Zhu De's speeches at the Seventh National Congress, founding ceremony and Nanjing's liberation are all treasures with literature value. There is also a small exhibition hall, which displays the movie cameras and photo enlargers used by two old people in Yan 'an, as well as the handwriting of the older generation of party and state leaders such as Soong Ching Ling, Dong and Guo Moruo, as well as awards and honorary certificates of various periods. In addition to the exhibition hall, the art museum also has supporting facilities such as lecture hall, darkroom and warehouse. There are more than 700 precious photographic works, more than 30 film works, and more than 2,000 Chinese and foreign photo albums and related books donated by two old people in the warehouse, which have high historical and artistic value.
