Warm Healing: What impressed you the most in Travels around the Flying House? Why?
In the first fifteen minutes of the film, Carl and Ellie's life is told in the simplest picture, from acquaintance to love, from childhood to old age. When they were young, they worshipped the explorer Charles and encouraged them to follow in his footsteps and go to Paradise Falls.
When they grew up, they got married, built their own house together and saved money for the adventure plan. Two people share joys and sorrows, but life is not easy. When they finally had some savings, Ellie was sick and died. From then on, Carl lived alone in their house and decided to take Ali's photo to Paradise Falls to realize their dream.
On the night when the house took off, Carl found Rosso standing in front of his house, so they met by mistake and embarked on a journey together.
In the past, Carl always stubbornly protected his house. Whether he was persuaded by the demolition team or encountered a storm on the way, he was unwilling to touch any decoration in the house. In his view, every corner of the house is full of memories and dreams of him and Ellie. If the house disappears, a part of Ellie will disappear.
After a series of magical journeys with Rosso, Carl understands that furniture, photos and houses are just the carriers of his love with Ali. Although he and Ali have lived in the house for decades, the memory of these decades does not depend on the house, but has been firmly imprinted in Carl's mind.
Life is like an adventure. We can't stay there because of the beautiful scenery. But to keep those beautiful pictures in mind, carry them forward and create more touching memories.
So when Carl threw away the things at home one by one, he also untied his own knot and decided not to spend the rest of his life by remembering Ellie, but to face a fresh life with Ellie's love.
Finally, the house fell on the edge of Paradise Falls, and Carl and Ellie's wish came true. After decades, Ellie's adventure book finally has a new content.
The hardest thing in life is to learn to let go. We have all been addicted to certain emotions, hoping to live with obsession. But the more decadent time we spend, the more fun we miss. Life is full of beauty. Whether these beauties can be discovered depends entirely on one's mentality.
Our life is like an adventure. Letting go doesn't mean forgetting. What we need to do is to keep our memories in our hearts and always experience life with a positive attitude.
