Haikou later positioned itself as a tropical coastal tourist city. For a tourist city, some relaxation, some sensory enjoyment and even some romantic stimulation are reasonable, excusable, just right and appropriate.

There should be two centers in Haikou. One is the old city with Jiefang West Road as the center. The main part is several old streets, such as Chang Di Road, Zhongshan Road, Deshengsha, Shuixiangkou, Aibo Road, Xinhua North Road and Jiefang East Road. Another center in Haikou, centered on Haixiu Shopping Street, flourished only after the province was built. The prosperity of Haixiu Road in this area has been at the beginning of the construction of the province. In recent years, more and more young people from Haikou have flocked to other places. It can even be said that aspiring young people are losing a lot. There is nothing the Hainan government can do about it. I think this has something to do with Haikou becoming an overindulgent city. Because, after living a comfortable life in Haikou, many young people began to be alert and sober. They are worried that they will become useless, so they would rather give up their comfortable life and go to a strange place to start from scratch. They would rather work hard and struggle. That is more spiritual satisfaction than just physical happiness. In Haikou, I discussed this problem with many young people. We basically think: Yes, Haikou is a city suitable for leisure life. But Haikou is not a city suitable for the growth, development and entrepreneurship of young people. Because everything here is so familiar, it smells of decay and erosion. There is no room for young people to expand, and there is an upward trend. In a city with extremely rich material and unlimited supply, people still need spiritual improvement and ideal pursuit.

There is another saying about the smell of decay. It is said that because Haikou is located in the tropics, it is humid, rainy and windy, with long sunshine time and strong radiation, and the tropical natural climate is hot, everything is easy to grow and rot and difficult to preserve. Everything is easy to live and die, just like the trees in Hainan grow fast, but the texture is worrying, fragile, not strong enough and easy to break. This natural condition in Hainan also affects culture. Culture is a symbol of a place's spiritual life and a sublimation of individual phenomena and experiences, which needs to be accumulated and cultivated. Haikou, on the other hand, has always had a weak cultural atmosphere and insufficient spiritual improvement. Because only a wealth of perceptual phenomena and personal experience of the body overflow at will, let it die, without accumulation, it can not be accumulated. Not to mention introspection and summary. Therefore, although Haikou always seems to pursue fashion and freshness, it has never tasted anything and likes the new and hates the old.
