Do you think Haikou is a good city?
I directly answered the question asked by the landlord: this city is good!
Why is it good? I reposted an article to let everyone know about Haikou!
About Haikou City [reposting]
There are some weak things in human nature, which are often more obvious and prominent in some cities. In my opinion, Haikou is such a city. From this perspective, Haikou can be said to be a more emotional city.
Like all more emotional cities, Haikou once had passion. Yes 1988, the youth indulgence of "100,000 talents go to Hainan" swept the land of China like a trend. At the same time, like all sudden great passions, after the outbreak, it was extremely hasty and decadent for a long time, even a little degenerate. All this was unfortunately verified in Haikou. After the upsurge, Haikou fell into depression and desolation, and at the same time, it became a recreation center from a development hotspot, and the air was filled with the desire for consumption and enjoyment. Haikou later positioned itself as a tropical coastal tourist city. For a tourist city, some relaxation, some sensory enjoyment and even some romantic stimulation are reasonable, excusable, just right and appropriate.
I want to briefly describe the perceptual map of Haikou here.
There should be two centers in Haikou. One is the old city with Jiefang West Road as the center. The main part is several old streets, such as Chang Di Road, Zhongshan Road, Deshengsha, Shuixiangkou, Aibo Road, Xinhua North Road and Jiefang East Road. In the 1920s and 1930s, some streets were still occupied by arcades. This area is the favorite area of Haikou locals.
The most impressive thing about the old street is its liveliness. The old street is very lively. People in Hainan love to be lively. Live a lively life. It's noisy everywhere, especially those dad teahouses that Hainan people like to soak most. Dad Teahouse is a unique scenery in Hainan. Dad's teahouses are mostly scattered in a corner of the old street dominated by arcades or under a big banyan tree somewhere on the edge of the city. Dad's teahouse is a place for retired dads to chat and make friends. There is no decoration, a few tables, a few chairs, extra-large electric fans (some of them have air conditioning now), then a pot of strong tea with sugar, several big tea bowls, and some melon seeds, peanuts or snacks. However, a few dollars is enough for three or five dads to chat all afternoon, slowly shake a big cattail leaf fan and break up after dinner. Milk tea represents a leisurely and quiet life. In recent years, even young people in their twenties like to soak their father's tea and smoke barefoot. A lot of people make irresponsible remarks and don't try to make money. I don't know whether to be happy or sad.
Another center in Haikou, centered on Haixiu Shopping Street, flourished only after the province was built. The current popularity here is comparable to that of Jiefang West Road, and there is even a tendency to surpass it. The prosperity of Haixiu Road in this area has been at the beginning of the construction of the province. When the province was built, there were two earliest three-star hotels, Haikou Hotel and Wanghailou Hotel, which were called "Green Island White House", and later Donghu Hotel, and a four-star pavilion, the tallest building in Haikou at that time, and the 24-story international financial building. They form a golden triangle with the East West Lake and the adjacent People's Park. This is also the intersection of three main streets in Haikou: Aibo Road, Haixiu Road and Haifu Road. A circular turntable where three roads intersect, surrounding a pool. This area is called triangle pool, and some people call it triangle land. The triangle has gradually become the center of Haikou. First of all, the business of several hotels is good, and anyone with a bit of so-called status likes to live in this area. The dance halls of several hotels are also on fire, gradually becoming the most luxurious entertainment places in Haikou. How many people spend a lot of money on it and let life slip away from them. Now teahouses, cafes and beauty salons live next to each other in this area, and people are crowded from morning till night. It's really strange why these people don't have to work, and there are so many idle people in Haikou. Of course, most of them are men. Because Haikou may be one of the few cities in China with service industry as the main industry, accounting for a very high proportion of GDP. The service industry is dominated by women, so there are more women in Haikou than men, and they are more fond of men. Haikou men are also notoriously lazy.
Another interesting place in Haikou is the financial and trade zone. This is an area where office buildings are concentrated. The so-called real estate bubble fever occurred in the early 1990s. Dozens of high-rise buildings that used to be dense suddenly rose, and now many of them have become unfinished buildings. Now it is famous as a food street. Haikou is an immigrant city, and foreign residents account for half of Haikou, so all the major cuisines in China are representative restaurants in Haikou. Jinlong Road Food Street in Haikou Financial and Trade Zone has concentrated these representative restaurants, including Hunan cuisine, xinjiang cuisine cuisine, Northeast cuisine, Northwest cuisine, Nanchang cuisine, Anhui cuisine, hubei cuisine cuisine and Yunnan cuisine. Because Haikou is a tourist city and a provincial capital, there are more guests from south to north. They are here for business, tourism and meetings, so the business of these restaurants is booming all year round. Seeing that the business of foreign restaurants in Haikou is so good, some people lament that Haikou's economy is not depressed. In fact, more than half of it is because of the reasons I just mentioned. Four famous local foods in Hainan, Wenchang Chicken, Jiaji Duck, East Goat and Lehe Crab, all have their headquarters in this area, and local snacks in Hainan, such as abalone powder, Qingbuliang, stewed beef brisket with wax gourd and sour melon sausage, can also be seen everywhere. Not to mention seafood. Come to Haikou, seafood is the freshest and cheapest, and it can be seen everywhere. And Haikou may be the most complete place in the country. Not to mention seafood. As for mountains, there are Wuzhishan in Hainan Island, with an altitude of nearly two kilometers. Now there are wild boar, bison and wild vegetables on the mountain. Unlike Cantonese, these things have to be imported from Yunnan and Guangxi. Parts of Wuzhishan have not been there so far. Of course, the state protects animals, and we must resolutely refuse to eat them.
There is also a Haidian Island, which is a small island separated from Haikou Bridge, but the environment is quieter and more elegant than the urban area. Some more advanced villas in Haikou are on the island. There are also several five-star hotels on the island. There is also a bar street in Haidian Island. The earliest bar in Haikou, Xuewu Bar, is located next to the five-star hotel around the island in Haidian Island. At that time, it was mainly aimed at the guests of the hotel around the island. Some guests can't sleep at night and want to find a place to sit and have a drink. It's probably 1992. I later wrote a novel "Blue Bar" with the igloo bar as the background. Later, there were many bars in this area, which became a bar street. Captain Morgan, Starscream, TT and so on. However, the most romantic one is Yahweh Creek No.1 Bar, which is located next to Yahweh Creek, Changjiang 4th Road, Haidian Island. Yahweh Creek 1 Bar is located on the first floor of a European-style spire building with simple and elegant decoration. All white tablecloth, candlelight. Sitting in the unique Yahweh Creek No.1 Bar, people will become crazy in love. They seem to be longing for something and hope something will happen.
At present, the key development in Haikou planning is the so-called west coast, which stretches for twenty or thirty kilometers to the west. Coconut groves also stretch for twenty or thirty kilometers, standing on the shore, looking up, it is the magnificent Qiongzhou Strait, and the mainland is on the other side of the sea. It is said that when the weather is particularly good, you can see the coastline of Leizhou Peninsula on the other side, but at ordinary times it is basically a sea of Wang Yang, with clouds and vast smoke. At night, the west coast is more charming. At dusk, swimmers began to flock here. With the deepening of the night, the west coast stretching for dozens of kilometers has become a colorful bright light chain. Of course, people who like to seek solitude and solitude are mostly walking alone on the relatively secluded coast. Facing the dim light, he (she) is unmoved, just guarding his heart. People who walk by the sea for a long time will always get their clothes wet more or less by the sea, and many people will have this experience. Isn't it? This is really a good place for people with petty bourgeoisie to express their feelings.

So, what is love life? My understanding is the kind of life that is too addicted to the personal sensory enjoyment of the body. Haikou is such a city that pays attention to emotional life.
Haikou is a typical leisure city with consumption and enjoyment. In the government's planning, it will become an international coastal tourist city. According to the news, the city's greening rate is the first in the country, and the air quality is the first in the country (according to CCTV's daily air quality forecast statistics), which can be canned for export. On the Internet, Haikou was rated as the freest city in China. In the chat after a drunken meal, there is a saying that I didn't know my health until I got to Haikou. Personally, I think Haikou is indeed a city with great personality and emotional appeal, or rather, a city with great personality, suitable for enjoying personal physical feelings and happiness.
Many people who have been to Haikou or stayed in Haikou admit that Haikou is suitable for living. In Haikou, as long as you have a slightly stable job and a little extra money for family life, you can live comfortably. If you are a person who likes a lazy life, you can spend a lazy day, get up late in the morning, drink morning tea, soak in teahouses at noon, stroll around, soak in coffee shops at night, eat supper when you are hungry, and food stalls are all over the street. If you don't want to go home, you can get a room in any hotel. Anyway, hotels in Haikou are idle in the off-season, and the price is so cheap that you are embarrassed. Then play mahjong all night or something. If you are more interesting, you can go to the seaside and watch the moon, or invite friends to swim and play beach volleyball, or sit in the western restaurant of a five-star hotel and listen to a Philippine band. As long as it is not the peak season, the usual price is affordable for white-collar workers. Of course, you can also live in seclusion. For example, renting an old house in the shade, surfing the Internet or watching movies in a study with mottled walls, Haikou cam-in seems to have everything. I once found a documentary about Guevara in an unknown age. You can enjoy yourself in a small private world and don't want to cook. There are many small restaurants, and the price is similar to buying food by yourself. Haikou has many good places to cultivate love: the seaside, evergreen gardens, tree-lined paths under coconut trees, and good weather and scenery for you to brew your feelings. If you are thirsty, you can eat more tropical fruits. Hainan is everywhere. If you listen to the names of mango, rambutan, peach, Huang Xiangjiao and mangosteen, you can feel how attractive it is ... This life is really comfortable and beautiful. Every part of the body is activated, then reaches orgasm, and finally becomes numb with excitement. But at the same time, there are also very dangerous and decadent factors in this comfort. In this enjoyment-oriented atmosphere, people will gradually become lazy, lose their ideas, lose their vitality and passion, become self-satisfied, indulge in physical happiness, and finally only the delicate experience of physical sensibility, the decadent spirit in their bones, and finally lose sensitivity to everything else.
What's wrong with that? Someone wants to be serious with me. We just want to oppose high-profile and grand narrative, we just want to oppose big talk and empty talk, we just want to pursue negative freedom and escape positive freedom. Is Haikou bad? There is no sandstorm and air pollution in Haikou, and the water quality is among the best in the country, with rich resources and moist life. Isn't this the general trend? I have nothing to say, I admit that this is an objective fact. However, warm-blooded young people are taking actions against this way of life. In recent years, more and more young people from Haikou have flocked to other places. It can even be said that aspiring young people are losing a lot. There is nothing the Hainan government can do about it. I think this has something to do with Haikou becoming an overindulgent city. Because, after living a comfortable life in Haikou, many young people began to be alert and sober. They are worried that they will become useless, so they would rather give up their comfortable life and go to a strange place to start from scratch. They would rather work hard and struggle. That is more spiritual satisfaction than just physical happiness. In Haikou, I discussed this problem with many young people. We basically think: Yes, Haikou is a city suitable for leisure life. But Haikou is not a city suitable for the growth, development and entrepreneurship of young people. Because everything here is so familiar, it smells of decay and erosion. There is no room for young people to expand, and there is an upward trend. In a city with extremely rich material and unlimited supply, people still need spiritual improvement and ideal pursuit.
There is another saying about the smell of decay. It is said that because Haikou is located in the tropics, it is humid, rainy and windy, with long sunshine time and strong radiation, and the tropical natural climate is hot, everything is easy to grow and rot and difficult to preserve. Everything is easy to live and die, just like the trees in Hainan grow fast, but the texture is worrying, fragile, not strong enough and easy to break. This natural condition in Hainan also affects culture. Culture is a symbol of a place's spiritual life and a sublimation of individual phenomena and experiences, which needs to be accumulated and cultivated. Haikou, on the other hand, has always had a weak cultural atmosphere and insufficient spiritual improvement. Because only a wealth of perceptual phenomena and personal experience of the body overflow at will, let it die, without accumulation, it can not be accumulated. Not to mention introspection and summary. Therefore, although Haikou always seems to pursue fashion and freshness, it has never tasted anything and likes the new and hates the old. On the surface, it is trendy, but in the bones, it is decadent. This is also the essence of all games that start with the body and end with the body. Body, isn't that the most unreliable? The shortest perishable? What comes from dust will eventually return to dust.
