Sony's 4K micro-single can shoot 1000fps in super slow motion! Is this black technology?

Computational black technology:

It is because Sony transplanted the unique 4K photography and ultra-high frame rate photography technology of professional cameras to the RX black card. It's amazing that such a small machine can shoot 1000FPS video. Most flagship SLR cameras can't shoot at 4K (currently only 5D4 can shoot at 4K), let alone ultra-high speed photography.

But not so "black technology":

4K and 1000FPS are actually two parameters, which does not mean that RX 100 can shoot a 4K video of 1000FPS.

RX 100 can only select a frame rate of 25FPS when selecting 4K video.

When 1000FPS is selected, the picture quality can be high or low. The frame of high-quality files is 30-50KB( 1 136*384), and the longest shooting time is 2 seconds.

Low-quality files are about 10-20KB per frame, and the longest is 4 seconds. In other words, in fact, Sony only took 1 1,000 ultra-low pixel pictures in 1 second (a picture is about 30KB, which is much more compressed than a circle of friends). Because of the need for a high-speed shutter, it is basically invisible when the light is poor, and it is all noise.

The reason why the image quality is compressed and the duration is limited is because the processing speed and storage speed can't keep up (shooting 50MB files per second is basically the processing speed of mainstream consumer cameras), while professional high-speed cameras can shoot high-speed photography at 8000FPS, with almost no duration limit. Of course, the price and portability are not comparable to black cards. (In the movie X-Men, the scene where Express Printing fights in the kitchen was shot with an ultra-high-speed camera at 8000FPS. )

Therefore, the black card only compresses the mature technology in the professional field to the point of "both practical and acceptable cost".

Therefore, look at it rationally and buy it rationally.
