This change indicates that the artist's attitude towards a new media has passed the initial stage of surprise and the subsequent stage of possibility development, thus moving towards the stage of mature media. At this stage, the possibility and boundary of a medium are no longer discussed in detail, but on the basis of understanding the limitations and expressive advantages of the medium, in-depth and meticulous excavation and creative application are carried out, and a mature language enters the stage of expression excavation and deliberation of "grammar tempering" and "wording and sentence making", that is, it enters the subtle consideration level of the medium. This attitude and application of media is similar to the application and scrutiny of traditional media in perception, but in fact, most artists of Hangzhou Image Movement have undergone strict training in traditional art media, and when using images as media to create, they really consciously or unconsciously draw nutrition from the experience and resources of traditional media. Moreover, as far as the relationship between authors, works and real life is concerned, the artists of Hangzhou Image Movement did inherit the concept of "creation" of traditional art (detailed below). Such creative ideas and methods will inevitably present a "classical regression" in appearance.

Third, the special treatment of images and time makes the form of the works keep pace with the situation of moving images and photography:

Because of the common background of the Academy of Fine Arts, artists in Hangzhou are naturally more accustomed to the management and construction of a single picture, which makes them seem to be better at photography than moving images based on time. However, the use of moving images by artists in Hangzhou is not a narrative based on time sequence in the general sense, but a way to use this time art to shape images and express emotions or thoughts, and a way to deal with time problems in space. They either focus on photography, or mainly on moving images, or are good at moving images, photography or even single paintings, showing the trend that the two forms of works go hand in hand.
