In the past, the ro-ro passenger ships departing from the new seaport could only take the "Z" shape to Hai 'an Xingang and haian port, and the voyage of this route was about 24 nautical miles. After Xuwen Port opened, it directly docked with Xinhai Port, and ships traveled to and from the seaports on both sides of the strait in a zigzag line. The cross-sea voyage of Qiongzhou Strait was shortened from 24 nautical miles to 12 nautical miles, and the sea voyage time was shortened from 2-3 hours to 1 hour.
