My hometown is located in the east of Inner Mongolia. This is a beautiful town. As a result of the reform and opening-up policy, China has become richer and richer. I like it more and more. But a few years ago, this town was a poor and dirty place. There are rows of small, old and dark brick houses, and there are few grass and trees. People's clothes look terrible. They are always black and blue. The town is full of garbage dumps, which give off an unpleasant smell. The road was badly built. When a truck passed by, it raised a cloud of dust. You can imagine how bad the environment is!
Great changes have taken place in my hometown since 1980. People's living standards are improving every year. In the past few years, big shops and parks have been built. The streets have been straightened and widened. Trees and flowers are growing on both sides of the road. People not only work hard, but also take part in various recreational activities: advertising, fishing, gardening and so on.
Last summer, when I returned to my hometown, I found another big park under construction. There is a big lake in this park. You can row a boat on it. You can also enjoy the beautiful scenery.
