What is recorded in Chen Wanli's The Palace Museum of the 13th National People's Congress?

In 924, Puyi, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty, was forced to move out of the Forbidden City, marking the complete withdrawal of China's feudal autocracy from the historical stage. Chen Wanli, a photographer from the North Broadcasting Society, recorded this historical event with his camera. 1928, he edited his photos into a book and published it in the 13th Forbidden City, which is the earliest documentary photo collection in China. It shows Chen Wanli's profound understanding and comprehensive grasp of photography, just as he wrote in Xiao Yan: After the deposed Emperor Puyi left the palace, I followed the photos taken by the military, police and political circles when handling the detention, and selected 84 photos from more than 100 to make this booklet. I am confident that how many of them can be kept as historical materials in the future.

Plain, true and natural records are the conscious consciousness dominated by Chen Wanli's thought of "saving for future historical materials". This booklet truly shows the political changes that have taken place in the Forbidden City to future generations-eunuchs who are preparing to leave the palace, maids who are being inspected, and military and police personnel who are busy sealing the palace.
