SLR maintenance knowledge
1, read the product manual carefully.
Many people disdain to take this step, especially those who often play with cameras. In fact, whether it is a camera or other products, many product manuals have some good precautions to remind you of what may damage the camera, keep the camera running smoothly, and even teach you how to save electricity and how to avoid overheating when using live view. So it's good to read the instructions after buying a camera. I remember when I first learned photography, I read the product manual of Nikon d600 three times, which was a thick one. First, in order to understand the product, but to master some basic knowledge, you should ask the teacher in time when you see new words or places you don't understand.
Don't expose the camera to high temperature.
I believe that most electronic product manuals will emphasize this point. Everyone should pay special attention to this. Many products will be damaged at high temperature. From the camera's point of view, it is necessary to avoid being placed in a high temperature environment for a long time. As far as summer is concerned, if the camera is put on an unmanned vehicle, the plastic part on the fuselage may melt because it is too stuffy. We paid special attention to this when we didn't shoot it.
3. Install the camera shoulder strap for the camera.
Have you ever dropped your camera by accident? If your camera doesn't have a shoulder strap, it is easy to happen. As far as our commonly used mobile phone is concerned, it is easier to accidentally fall. What's more, SLR cameras are bulky and heavy, and no one can avoid slipping or instability during shooting. Wear a shoulder strap and wrap it around your hand or around your neck when shooting, so as not to accidentally drop the camera. Say a few more words, this is what my teacher told me several times, that is, the camera shoulder strap itself is fine. Under normal circumstances, if it is fastened correctly, the shoulder strap will not break easily because the camera is overweight. Therefore, in order to protect the camera, the strap must be tied correctly.
4. Moisture-proof
For the digital SLR host, too humid environment is easy to cause the decline of electrical insulation performance and increase the possibility of failure (such as slight short circuit, fast battery consumption, button failure, etc.). ). For the lens, the humid environment is easy to make the lens "foggy". If the inner lens is fogged, the influence on the imaging quality of the lens is almost fatal. Therefore, when digital SLR is not used for a long time, it should be placed in moistureproof box, especially in the humid south.
5. Avoid switching cameras directly between environments with large temperature difference.
People suddenly enter the air-conditioned room from a very cold place to a warm place or from a hot outdoor place, which is not only easy to get sick, but also the camera may cause some damage. According to the principle of thermal expansion and contraction, the camera frequently switches under such temperature difference, which easily affects the internal components or batteries of the camera. However, this is mainly for the case of "bare metal". Generally, if it is placed in a camera bag for space conversion, the thermal expansion and cold contraction caused by rapid temperature rise or cooling mainly act on the camera bag, which can relatively reduce the direct effect on the camera.
Step 6 protect the lens with a filter
This is easier to understand. Wearing uv lens on the lens can not only reduce the influence of ultraviolet scattered in the air on the photosensitive element, but also protect the lens, prevent the lens from being scratched and dirty, and reduce the possibility of dust flowing into the lens. Even if you accidentally knock against the lens, it can also play a buffering role, and it can also play a certain waterproof role when shooting at the seaside or in rainy days.
7. Don't change the lens in windy conditions.
This is very important to me because I have lived in the north for many years. The weather in the north is dry and windy. So when I shoot outdoors, I usually don't change the lens in windy conditions. This is mainly for fear that some unknown objects or dust will fall on the photosensitive element in the wind. At this point, people who shoot in deserts or places with poor air quality should be reminded in particular. Anyway, if you encounter these similar environments, minimize them and avoid changing lenses. If it really doesn't work, if you want to shoot in these places, use a zoom lens, which saves the process of changing the lens.
8. Keep a low profile when changing lenses.
As mentioned above, lens changing in harsh environment should be avoided as much as possible, but it is suggested that lens changing should be as low-key as possible under normal circumstances. To put it bluntly, when we change the lens, we need to find a place to put the lens and camera on hold for a while. Just change the lens lower. Don't hold the camera and lens too high. If you accidentally drop it, you will lose more than you gain. On the table, on the ground, in the camera bag, etc., when replacing the lens, the photosensitive element is partially facing down when installing the lens.
9. When using live view, don't point the lens at the sun for too long.
I also forgot who told me this, and didn't tell me why. Later, I looked up some information and gradually understood it. Although real-time view shooting can protect eyes better than optical view window shooting when taking backlight photos, it is not good for the machine. Generally, when shooting in optical framing, the light entering from the lens will not directly hit the photosensitive element, but will be reflected in the optical framing window through the reflector and pentaprism. However, when shooting a real scene, the reflector will be locked, and the light will directly hit the photosensitive element, so that the dynamic preview mode of the real scene can be obtained.
Of course, there will be no problem if the sun shines directly on the photosensitive element for a few seconds. If the irradiation time is prolonged, it will be more likely to cause long-term injury, and there will be the possibility that the shutter will be burned. Therefore, if you take photos of the sun or backlight with real scenes, the sooner the better.
10, please turn off the power before changing the lens.
I'll tell you, is my camera evaluation editor very unreliable? I often don't pay attention to this with the evaluation machine, and then I will remember it after being trained several times.
If you have the same situation, change the lens without turning off the power supply, and then make a slight correction. Don't treat your camera in a hot-plug way. When the power supply is not turned off, the photosensitive element is still in the power storage state, and replacing the lens at this time will increase the probability of dust entering. It is recommended that you replace the lens after turning off the power supply, and turn on the cleaning function of the photosensitive element in the camera after replacement to ensure the cleanliness of the photosensitive element.
1 1. When the camera is not used for a long time, take out the battery.
In fact, this is a problem that everyone knows and is most easily overlooked. Battery, even when the camera is turned off, the battery in the camera will consume some electricity by itself, which will easily shorten the life of the battery. When you suddenly pick up the battery and it doesn't work, you will think the camera is broken.
12, find a good camera bag for your camera.
At home, especially for photographers in the south, photographic equipment should be put in the moistureproof box. If you don't have a moistureproof box, you can also buy a storage box and put a desiccant on it for safekeeping. When shooting outside, you should choose a suitable camera bag to hold them, whether it is one shoulder or one shoulder. Anyway, you should have one, and you'd better carry it comfortably by yourself. One is easy to carry, and the other is to protect the camera.
13, never bring a camera to check in.
Because this shooting activity needs to go somewhere else, I think this should also be added. And many people may go to other places when traveling or taking pictures, and the possibility of flying cannot be denied. No matter how confident you are about the protective ability of the suitcase, don't let your expensive camera do experiments. When flying, please carry your camera, lens, filter and flash on your back and take it to the cabin. As for things that are not easy to be damaged, such as tripods, you can wrap them in clothes and check them in the suitcase.
14, always clean the camera.
Cleaning is a very important link in camera maintenance, including the cleaning of the fuselage, photosensitive elements and lenses. You can buy some cleaning tools in the market or e-commerce and clean them at home. As for how to clean up everything, I believe there will be some instructions in the manuals of these cleaning tools, and you can also search for related tutorials online. There are not a few online tutorials in this field. As for the cleaning of the photosensitive element, if it does not affect the imaging, it is best not to clean it, because it is easy to damage the photosensitive element during cleaning. If there is dust or other impurities, the frequency should not be too high.
15, clean the camera, don't forget to clean the camera bag.
Clean the camera, but the camera bag is dirty I'm afraid the camera can't escape the fate of being dirty So clean the camera bag after cleaning the camera. How to clean the camera bag? You can't throw it in the washing machine. Of course, this method is not desirable at all. If possible, use a vacuum cleaner to clean the interior. Just clean the outside of the camera bag with a damp cloth or brush.
16. Pay attention to update the camera firmware regularly.
Camera manufacturers often update camera firmware irregularly, fix some possible minor problems or enhance some functions and so on. You should often go to official website to see if there is any firmware upgrade for your machine. However, this does not mean that when you have a new firmware, you should upgrade it immediately. It's better to observe for a few days and inquire about some updated functional data to ensure that there are no bugs in the new firmware and then update it with peace of mind.
Be careful when reading the data cable. Plug-in and unplug cameras.
Many photographers have card readers, but the two ways of reading materials actually have their own advantages and disadvantages, which need attention. If you use the data cable to read, you have to risk a sudden computer failure or loose plug to burn the camera. She experienced it personally. She lent her camera to a rude man, and her friend unplugged the data cable she was watching and didn't turn it off. As a result, the interface can no longer be used, causing the motherboard to burn out and requiring a lot of money to maintain. If you use a card reader, if it is a cf card, you need to pay attention to the alignment of the pin rows and be careful to insert and remove them.
Tips: Before using the digital SLR in winter, it is best to touch the radiator or water pipe for a period of time before picking up the digital SLR, so as to avoid static electricity from damaging the digital SLR.
