See through, look down and see far.
Thank you very much for coming to my 50th birthday party. At this moment, my heart is full of gratitude to all of you. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to spend this wonderful moment with me.
Next, I will use the diamond rule to give my birthday speech. What I want to say now is actually one word at a time.
When we were born before we could speak, we began to look at the world with our eyes open. After watching it for several years, we understand. Do we understand? It's hard to say. Confucius once said: forty is not confusing, and fifty knows the destiny. At the age of forty, I am not confused and basically understand; At the age of 50, I knew my destiny, so I had to understand it thoroughly. I am fifty years old now. Do I get it? Probably, maybe, almost, maybe, definitely, definitely understand something. Here I want to talk about how to look at the world and our life with my 50-year life experience. I tell you "three views": see through, look down and see far.
Some students know that I have studied Buddhism in the past two years. But I don't believe in Buddhism. There are at least five precepts to believe in Buddhism: no killing, no stealing, no fornication, no lying and no drinking. For me, it is mainly abstinence (not adultery). Of course, I have also realized a lot of Buddhism. Then tell a story about Buddhism.
There was a handsome young man who fell in love with a beautiful woman for 8 years, but one day, the beautiful woman suddenly married another man. The boy was very sad, and he sat by the side of the road drinking alone. A wandering monk came over and asked why. He took a magic mirror out of his pocket and showed it to him. The picture in the magic mirror is that there is a beautiful woman lying naked on the beach beside the vast sea. Too bad it's dead. A young man, after coming to have a look, immediately turned and walked away. After a while, another young man came. He took off his clothes and covered the beauty, and also turned and left. After a while, another young man came. Seeing such a situation, he picked up the beauty's body and found a place to bury her. After watching the picture in the magic mirror, the handsome boy asked the monk what it meant. The monk told him that what you saw was actually your past life, that beautiful woman was your ex-girlfriend and you were the second young man. Because you once gave her a dress, she will repay you with eight years of love. And the third young man is now your girlfriend's husband. Because he buried her body so that she could be reincarnated, the beauty had to repay him with her whole life. After listening to the monk's explanation, the handsome boy was relieved and no longer in pain.
Buddhism talks about past lives's afterlife and three generations of cause and effect. The good and bad in this life are all due to the accumulation of virtue or sin in previous lives. So you have nothing to complain about. Don't complain. Everything was caused by your past life. Everything, from yourself, from the past, and even from past lives to find reasons, there will be no more complaints, which is called seeing through. As the saying goes, sometimes there must be something in life, and there is no need to force it in life.
Wang Shuo, a master of rogue literature, also said an interesting sentence: all beautiful women are actually like ordinary people in the water. This is also called seeing through.
Let me tell you two Buddhist stories, which are related to Su Dongpo, and you may have heard them. Jackson Fo Yin and Su Dongpo are good friends. One day, two people were sitting together drinking tea. Suddenly, Su Dongpo asked Fo Yin, "What do you think I look like?" ? Fo Yin said, I think you are like a Buddha. Fo Yin also asked Su Dongpo, What do you think I look like? When Su Dongpo saw that Fo Yin was a little fat, he sat cross-legged and blurted out, I think you look like a piece of shit. Su Dongpo felt that he had the upper hand, so he happily went back and told Su Xiaomei about it. Su Xiaomei is a talented woman. As soon as she heard this, she quickly said, brother, you lost. Buddhists say that what you see is what you have in your heart. It seems that Su Dongpo is a great writer, but his Buddhist accomplishment is not as good as that of Fo Yin.
There is also a story about Su Dongpo and Fo Yin. One day, Su Dongpo wrote a poem.
On the first day of my life.
Mm light is bright.
Eight winds can't blow
Trollius erectus
This poem has a good artistic conception and praises the Buddha. Of course, there are also elements that Su Dongpo boasted. So he asked extremely to send this poem to Fo Yin across the river, hoping to get Fo Yin's praise. But Fo Yin only recognized the word "fart" and asked extremely to bring it back. Su Dongpo was so angry that he could not sit still. He immediately took a boat to the other side of the river to settle accounts with Fo Yin. When he arrived at Guizong Temple in Fo Yin, he saw a piece of paper on the door, which read two lines:
Eight winds can't blow
Bullshit, Jiang Lai.
Seeing these two sentences, Su Dongpo suddenly became dumbfounded and discouraged, knowing that he was wrong. Why? Let me explain this "eight winds". In Buddhism, the "Eight Winds" are eight things that are opposite to each other: mocking, smearing, benefiting and declining, and suffering and pleasure. Also known as four adversities, it is eight situations in life. I'm afraid only the Buddha can make the eight winds blow, which is very difficult for ordinary people. Now Su Dongpo thinks that the Eight Winds can't blow, but he got a fart in Jiang Lai. This state is really bad.
So I think a person, especially at a certain age, must look down on fame and fortune. It will be very, very painful if you have too much attachment to external things and your own ability is not enough. Less persistence is not that you can't blow the eight winds, but that you won't be in a hurry when you meet anything. Send everyone a formula:
To simplify it:
The size of the pain is the size of the gap between the above two. Subtraction equals zero, and you have no pain. There are two ways to relieve the pain. One is to look down on your persistent things, and the other is to improve your ability.
Today, I am very happy! Very happy! Why? Because what I pursue persistently is not much or big, my ability should still be relatively strong. Many students praised me, saying that I only do eloquence training and am overqualified. I think the biggest advantage of being overqualified is that you have no pain.
I wrote an article the other day called "Living under my crotch, I can't be happy anymore". We often hear people say that we should live in the present, not indulge in past misfortunes, and not indulge in future dreams. I said moment, crotch, moment and crotch, one refers to time and the other refers to space, but there are still three similar places, one is black, the other is smelly, and the third is narrow.
We can't live in the present, we still have poetry and distance. After seeing through the darkness, we cannot do nothing. We must look up to the distance and be full of yearning for a better life in the future. Use the sunshine of future dreams to shine into our less beautiful reality, inspire us to keep moving forward and never let ourselves live a miserable life.
My parents are over 80 years old. I believe I should live to be over 80 or even 90 years old. 100 years old, long live, long live!
I still have a lot to do in the next 30 years at least. Let me start with three main things.
The first thing, of course, is to realize the dream of my 3000 disciples. Do the students think I can realize this dream? (Yes, yes, yes! I'm sure I can. At present, there are more than 1200 people. When eloquence training started in 2008, the numerical goal was unclear. In 20 10, I set the goal of 3000 disciples like Confucius. As long as I treat my classmates sincerely, train them with real materials and real learning, and spend another ten years, my goals and dreams will definitely come true before I retire at the age of 60. If my classmates introduce their relatives, friends and subordinates as apprentices, it will shorten the time for me to realize my dream. I thank you first here! Please.
The second thing is to make a series of humorous videos of non-Panyu Business School. Some students may have seen Diers' Man, so I want to make something like that. I have a TV complex, a wandering cell and a little talent for acting. I want to invite some students who like acting to play with me. But mainly from the perspective of eloquence and language, and it is a cottage version, the video produced is widely circulated on the Internet. You can exercise your eloquence and performance, especially improve your sense of humor. Maybe you may become a small star or even a big star if you are not careful. Now we are looking for actors, screenwriters, photographers, lighting, props, costumes, lunch boxes, tea and other crew members. Of course, we are all learning from Lei Feng, and we are all volunteers. Welcome all interested students, please contact me as soon as possible.
The third thing is to write a book. I must write and publish more than one hundred books in my life. More than a dozen books have been published now, and it should be no problem to publish another 90 books in 30 years. Why do you have to write a book? Confucius said that words without words are not far away. If I just talk, narrate and do nothing, and no one records and arranges my lectures like Confucius' disciples, and one day I die, then my thoughts, theories and wisdom will also drift with the wind and cannot be passed on to the afterlife. What a pity, don't you think? Therefore, I must finish it! Of a hundred books, I believe there must be several or one instinct that will be passed down to future generations. This is one of my literati feelings.
That's all for my three readings today. To see through is to know its cause and effect, to know its contacts, to ignore its gains and losses, and not to blame others. Pessimism means being indifferent to fame and fortune, keeping a proper distance from fame and fortune, and not being above the wind, otherwise pigs can fly, and how can the eight winds not blow? Looking from a distance, you are dreaming, and you are practical when you say it. This is a summary of my life, hoping to bring some inspiration to my classmates.
Finally, I want to say, thank you, bless you, I love you forever!
