Party is a comedy film starring Michele Picoli, Irene pappas and Lionel Silveira, directed by Manoel de Oliveira and written by Manoel de Oliveira and Augustine Bertha Luis. It was released in Italy on 1 September 19961. The film tells the story of an aristocratic young woman (Leolay Silveira) who has been married for ten years and has a dull life. She can't stand the teasing of a romantic man (Michelle Piccoli), and her heart is shaking.

Leoro and Lerio met Irina and Michelle at a party in commemoration of their 10th wedding. Leo, whose life is rich but unremarkable, and Michelle, whose life is very different from hers, set off inner waves in the conversation. On the other hand, Leo and Irina also revealed casual waves in the conversation. After the party, five years later, Michelle and Irina reappeared in Leoro and Lerio Island.

Behind the scenes production:

This is a touching film. It changed people's views on the film movement. After five years, the camera still records the people, language and time in the conversation. However, Oliveira skillfully and thoroughly analyzed the space with the lens, mobilized the emotions of the characters gracefully and implicitly, and captured the unpredictable emotional fluctuations between people. Language, literary language, deposited in Oliveira's calm and rational space, is the voice of the soul.

In the film, men and women with inner desires and taboos gather on an island, and their emotional actions are restored in this way. The film shows the inestimable "appreciation" as a film in an essential way here. The film was shortlisted in the competition unit of Venice International Film Festival 1996.
