Types of image maps

According to the different remote sensing data, the image map is divided into aerial image map and satellite image map. According to the nature of the map, it is divided into thematic image map and general image map; According to the framing form, it is divided into single image, single regional image and standard framing image; According to the released color, it is divided into black-and-white image and color image; According to the drawing and printing methods, it can be divided into optical synthetic image and printing synthetic image.

Image maps can be divided into general image maps and thematic image maps according to their contents.

Ordinary image map combines the characteristics of remote sensing image and topographic map, and superimposes contour lines, boundary lines, ditches, roads, elevation notes and other contents on the image. According to different requirements, it can be made into black and white, color, single-band and multi-band synthetic image maps. According to the nature of remote sensing data, it can be divided into aerial image map and satellite image map. The former has large scale and high image resolution, and is suitable for engineering design, cadastral management, regional planning, urban construction, regional geographical investigation and research, and large-scale thematic map compilation; The latter is a small and medium-sized image map, which was compiled after correcting the images of MSS4, MSS5, MSS6 and MSS7 bands scanned by Landsat multispectral scanner. The overall concept of the region is clear, which is conducive to extensive analysis and research. It is suitable for studying the overall picture of the mapping area, the regional landform of the geotectonic system and the distribution of vegetation, formulating the overall planning of industry and agriculture, and conducting resource investigation and thematic mapping.

Thematic image map is an image map based on the image map, which is made by interpreting and drawing the position of thematic elements, outline boundaries and a few notes. Because there are rich image details in the photos and thematic elements are set in the images, the two can be mutually verified, and there is no need to compile geographical base maps, so it has the advantages of high efficiency and good quality, and is a new type of map with broad prospects.

At present, some new image maps representing the development trend of image map making technology have come out:

Electronic image map This image map is stored in digital form on storage media such as disk, CD-ROM or tape, and can be restored to image map through the output equipment of electronic computer (such as plotter and display screen). ) when necessary. Compared with the traditional image map, it retains the basic features of image map, such as mathematical basis, legend, symbols, colors and so on. , but the media carrying the image map information are different.

Multimedia image map is the further development of electronic map. Traditional image maps mainly provide people with visual information, while multimedia image maps add sound and tactile functions. Users can operate the multimedia image map through the touch screen and even sound. The system can enlarge the image area selected by users, and the intuitive image information is accompanied by vivid explanation, which makes the transmission and expression of image map information more effective.

Stereo holographic image This image image is a pair of overlapping images taken from two different angles. When reading, you need to wear a polarizing filter to make the reproduced beam orthogonally polarized, and separate the left and right images, so that the left eye can see the left image and the right eye can see the right image. Using human physiological parallax, we can see stereoscopic holographic images.
