Confucian culture is to persuade people to be good, but why were there so many villains or hypocrites in ancient times?

Confucian culture only tells you what kind of person you want to be, but there is no way to make you become such a person.

Mencius said: "beginning of life is inherently good", but I think people are not pure and perfect at birth. Even children have little demons in their hearts. It is not a good thing for children to force bad ideas down in this way.

What's more, children like to imitate without knowing anything. If the adults around the children make a bad demonstration and subtly pass on some values that are not in line with Confucianism to the children, the children will have conflicts when they come into contact with Confucian culture in the future.

The society stipulates that we should be a Confucian, but many people can't. Under all kinds of pressure, you can't make it clear, but you can't let others find out that you can't do it, because it will become the target of attack.

So everyone had to pretend to know that they didn't think so, but they were afraid that what they said in their hearts would be seen through by other hypocrites.

Many Confucian cultures will make us hurt our own interests. In the face of interests, it is actually difficult for us to be good people.
