What bayonet does Nikon SLR use? Please discuss with photographers.
As far as I know, Nikon seems to have been using the same bayonet for the last 50 years, which is the AF bayonet. If your body is high enough (such as D3 series, D700 series and D300 series), you should be able to support very old lenses, but you need manual focusing and manual exposure. The lens can still get stuck. Canon's EF bayonet should be able to support nearly 20 years of lenses, Pentax's PK port and Leica's M port.
