Wong Kar-wai (1958 July17) was born in Shanghai, China. Born in Dinghai, Zhejiang (now Dinghai District, Zhoushan City). Graduated from the Graphic Design Department of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China is a male director, screenwriter and producer. 1982, he wrote his first screenplay "Colorful Clouds" and officially entered the film circle. 1988, the first film "Tears Running" was released, and was nominated for best director in the 8th Hong Kong Film Awards.

1990 directed the feature film The True Story of Teddy Boy, for which he won the Best Director Award of 10 Hong Kong Film Awards and the Best Director Award of the 28th Taiwan Film Golden Horse Awards. 1994 directed the feature film "Chongqing Forest" and won the best director award of 14 Hong Kong Film Awards. 1996, directed the film fallen angels. 1997 directed the feature film "Spring is bursting" and won the Best Director Award at the 50th Cannes International Film Festival, becoming the first China director to win this award in the history of Cannes International Film Festival.

In 2000, he directed the drama "In the Mood for Love" and won the Best Foreign Language Film Award in the 26th French Film Cesar Award. His father, a sailor, went to Malaysia, leaving Wong Kar-wai and his mother behind. Although living in poverty, his mother took Wong Kar-wai to the cinema almost every day, and he has since formed an indissoluble bond with movies.

When studying graphic design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic (later renamed the Hong Kong Polytechnic University), Wong Kar-wai was once fascinated by photography. After graduation, Wong Kar-wai joined the TVB director group (also known as tvbi) as a screenwriter in his spare time because he didn't have much time to work in this major.
