Why is HD 720p?
720P is a very rare high-definition TV resolution in the United States when it first came out. Later, 1080P was developed, which is an internationally recognized high-definition. 1080P is generally called full high-definition (FULL HD). Now 1080P has become more common. Even 2160P and 4320P videos are available. Movies are beginning to use IMAX cameras. Baidu Encyclopedia’s explanation of 720P 1080P is somewhat outdated. 3D TVs are becoming more and more common.
The following introduces the common high-definition on the Internet:
1. Blu-ray original disc: the size of a movie ranges from more than ten gigabytes to dozens of gigabytes. The Blu-ray disc capacity is divided into single 25G on one side and 50G on one side and double layer.
2. REMUX: The converted format is TS. The picture and sound quality are the same as the original disc. It is called lossless high-definition and the size is only a few gigabytes smaller than the original disc. The reason why this format is used is that the TS format is more flexible, you can add and delete audio tracks and subtitles, and it is also easy to play. Although the original disk is also available, the operation is extremely cumbersome.
3. High bit rate compression 1080P: Generally packaged as MKV, which is compressed from the original disc. A 90-minute movie is about 8G, depending on the length of the movie. The image quality and size of this kind of compression are just right. The image quality is not much different from the original disk. It is basically invisible on a computer unless it is viewed on a large TV or projector of dozens of inches.
4. High bit rate compression 720P: The general packaging format is MKV. A 90-minute movie is about 4G, depending on the length of the movie. This kind of picture quality is slightly worse than the high bit rate 1080P, but for general computer monitors below 24 inches, even with a good graphics card, there is still not much difference between it and 1080P.
5. HDTV: Generally packaged as TS TP MKV with resolutions of 720P and 1080P. This type is mostly used for live LIVE, song MVs and TV series. This is recorded from a high-definition TV channel program (with a station logo). The picture quality is definitely not as good as Blu-ray, but it is still very good. It is most suitable for those who like high-definition MVs or watch TV series.
6. High bit rate 480P (that is, standard definition): The general packaging format is MKV. A 90-minute movie is about 2G. This is an entry-level picture quality. In theory, it is the same as DVD picture quality. Similarly, I personally feel that the picture quality is slightly better than that of DVD, as it is also compressed from the original Blu-ray disc.
7. Low bit rate 1080P and 720P: The packaging formats are all kinds of weird, including AVI RMVB MKV MP4 and so on. This is also the high-definition that many so-called online viewing refers to. It is true that a movie with less than 1G has a resolution of 720P, but the bit rate is too low and the image quality is not as good as 480P, which is a high bit rate.
