Study on Aesthetic Law of Photographic Composition

In study, work and life, everyone must be familiar with papers. A thesis is an article to discuss or study some problems. So how to write a general paper? The following is my research paper on the aesthetic law in photographic composition for you. Welcome to share.

abstract:

There are many ways to compose a photo, but different ways to compose a photo will have different effects. Now digital cameras have entered the general population, and almost everyone can take good photos. But why are the photos taken by different people in the same scene so different? It is largely determined by the quality of the composition. Photographic composition has certain particularity, which is not completed at one time. It is divided into two steps: one is the choice of shooting angle, and the other is the post-editing of photos. The quality of composition is very important if you want to shoot a perfect photographic work. In photographic composition, the relevant laws of formal beauty can effectively enhance the visual effect of the picture, increase the layering of the picture and emphasize the theme. Let's briefly talk about the application of the basic law of formal beauty in photographic composition.

Key words:

Photography; Composition; aesthetics

I. Balance and coordination

Balanced composition does not simply mean that the shape, size or arrangement of objects are symmetrical up and down or left and right, but that it gives people a sense of stability visually and is a mutual echo. Shape, pattern, light and shadow, color, quantity and quality can all participate in stability. Balance is stability, and stability is not only manifested on both sides of the central axis of the picture, but also on the upper and lower structure of the picture. From the visual weight point of view, it conforms to people's visual habits and the law of center of gravity sinking. The upper part gives people a relaxed feeling, while the lower part gives people a feeling of stability and stability. If the upper part is heavy, it will give people a top-heavy feeling. In the form of composition, it is also necessary to make a composition with a small top and a large bottom, which is also in line with human vision. Harmony means that all the elements in the picture are interrelated and combined in a harmonious way. All elements in the picture should set off against each other to avoid the lack of cohesion and coordination between elements.

Second, symmetry and balance.

Symmetry and balance are actually two different forms of balance. Symmetrical composition has the characteristics of balance, stability and mutual echo, but its disadvantage is singleness and lack of change. If one picture after another is perfectly symmetrical, people will soon get bored. If the main color of the photo is symmetrical, but the details can be slightly embellished, it can reduce the absolute symmetry of the picture, break the dullness of the picture and make the picture more attractive. Equilibrium, also called dynamic equilibrium, is more flexible and interesting than symmetric equilibrium.

In people's psychology, they are often smart and emotional, giving people a sense of relaxation. In photographic composition, there are many factors that affect the balance, such as light and shade, color, image authenticity and so on. No matter how complicated the picture composition is, it requires a balanced state. Don't think that balance is symmetry. Symmetrical pictures often give people a sense of dullness, but balance will never appear like this, nor will it cause visual disgust. To achieve a balanced state, it is necessary to make various factors in the picture complement each other and echo each other.

Third, focus and echo

Concentration is to make the objects in the picture form a unified and orderly whole, which is not only a visual form problem, but also an important condition to highlight the theme. For example, three or four people are taking pictures of the opposite scenery with their mobile phones. From the form of the picture, the dynamics of the characters are different. But through the common mood that everyone wants to shoot beautiful scenery, the connotation is unified and the theme is well expressed. When there are many things in the work, if there is no certain coordination with them, the picture will become fragmented and have no theme and focus. Echo refers to the mutual connection between objects in the picture, the correlation of color, shape and quality between visual elements and the mutual care of positions, which makes people feel a sense of harmony visually. In photographic composition, the relationship between light, shadow, entity, hue, virtual body and objects of different shapes and sizes is used to achieve an orderly and balanced effect on the overall layout of the picture.

Fourth, comparison.

Contrast technique is an indispensable and important technique in photographic composition technique. Contrast is to compare two subjects or two colors in the picture, so that they can set off each other. A contrasting picture is like talking, which can resonate strongly with the viewer and leave a deep impression on people. Contrast elements can be found in most photographic works, such as virtual and real, bright and dark, far and near, big and small, sparse and dense, high and low, and so on. The contrast between reality and reality is the most commonly used in photography. Virtual refers to the blurring of the external background and foreground of the subject, but actually refers to the clear effect of the subject. Highlight the clear subject with a vague background to form a contrast. This can make the audience focus on the subject, and it is easier to have a deep impression on the subject. Usually, a long focal length lens and a large aperture are used to keep the subject at a certain distance from the background, so that the background is sufficiently blurred to highlight the subject. Size contrast, using the size characteristics of the subject itself or using the perspective of the lens and the different shooting angles to strengthen the size contrast between the subject and the background.

Using the method of size contrast can enhance the sense of spatial distance of the picture, make the picture more tense, produce richer changes and make the subject more eye-catching. Light and dark contrast, the same scene under different lighting conditions, the state is not the same. When shooting, we can highlight the subject by using the different light-dark relations generated by light on the picture, and put the subject in the strong light of the picture to form a light-dark contrast with other areas, so as to better highlight the position of the subject in the picture and enhance the artistic expression of the picture by using the light and shadow effect. Color contrast, color contrast is also an effective way to highlight the main body of the picture. It is often used by experienced photographers who know the color relationship to highlight the main body of the picture by comparing the color of the main body with the color of the background. Without color contrast, there is no freshness, and it is difficult to stimulate aesthetic interest. Of course, the meaning of color contrast is rich, including lightness contrast, hue contrast, purity contrast, cold and warm contrast and so on.

Verb (abbreviation of verb) change and unity

Change and unity are important laws in the aesthetic law of art design. Change is to find the differences and differences between the elements of things, and unity is to find the internal relations and common ground between the elements. Changes in photographic composition refer to the rich and vivid factors that meet the requirements of visual beauty. Unity refers to the overall, coordinated and beautiful organization among the elements in the picture composition, which makes people feel happy psychologically. Therefore, when shooting, photographers should look for the internal relationship between the subjects, grasp the overall situation, and know how to choose. If the picture changes and is not unified, it will give people a sense of confusion. If there is unity without change, it will also give people a sense of dullness. Therefore, it is necessary to change in the unity of the picture and unify in the change, so that the two can achieve a harmonious degree, thus achieving a beautiful degree.

Abstract of intransitive verbs

Photographic composition is an activity related to aesthetics. Aesthetics is closely related to photographic composition, and aesthetic laws play an important role in photographic composition. It is impossible for photographers to make continuous progress and upgrade their works to a higher level without understanding the characteristics of photography aesthetics. The role of aesthetics in photography creation is irreplaceable by cameras and photography technology. Photographers should not only have skilled technology, but also improve their artistic accomplishment and artistic feeling, which is imperceptible, and they should also grasp the discretion. Only on the basis of good artistic feeling and corresponding modeling ability can the composition be fully reflected, and the pictures they shoot can be more vital, expressive and infectious, giving viewers a beautiful enjoyment.

I. Introduction to Photography Art

With the progress of science and technology, photography technology has experienced hundreds of years of development. From huge photographic equipment to high-quality mobile phone photography, popularization has also become the development trend of photography technology. Photographic works record people or things in a specific time and scene through photographic equipment, expressing people's pursuit of good things and nostalgia for the good old days. To transform photography technology into photography art, we need to have certain photography skills and considerable artistic self-restraint, accurately grasp the artistic characteristics of photography, bring artistic flavor to photography works through certain forms, and then convey the pursuit of beauty. It can be seen that photography has its particularity, and it is the unremitting pursuit of photography to grasp the characteristics of photography and convey aesthetic experience.

Second, the characteristics of photography art

(A) the artistic expression of photographic works is based on realism.

Compared with other works of art, photography has its own characteristics, and realism is the basis for photography to exert its artistry. Everything recorded in photographic works is an objective thing in reality, which is the most obvious difference between photographic art and other art types, so the realism of photographic works can also be called objective existence or documentary. Aesthetic art means that works bring people an emotional catharsis through a certain way of presentation, and finally achieve the purpose of enlightening wisdom; The aesthetic artistic expression of photographic works is to record specific things in a specific historical time and space, convey some emotional value of the photographer, arouse people's infinite reverie, and thus bring aesthetic enjoyment to the viewer. It can be seen that the realism of photography is the most important means of artistic expression, and it is also an obvious artistic feature different from other arts, and the aesthetic feeling of art is to reveal the author's feelings on the basis of realism.

(B) the special sensory experience of photography

In addition to the realistic characteristics, photographic works also have a special sensory experience. Any art has its own unique artistic language, and photography is an artistic beauty constructed by making full use of artistic languages such as color, light, perspective, pictures and lines, thus giving viewers a unique sensory experience. Photography is a two-dimensional artistic presentation, which is different from physical forms such as sculpture. However, photographic works can often show rich spatial stereoscopic images through two-dimensional plane forms, giving people a certain imagination space. This unique sensory experience is beyond the reach of other art forms. In a word, the art of photographic works has its uniqueness, among which realism and special sensory experience are its obvious artistic expression characteristics. It is an important argument below to make full use of and give full play to its artistic characteristics and express it from an aesthetic point of view. The following is a concrete explanation through visual impact, the embodiment of emotional value and the sublimation of people's thoughts.

3. Explore the artistic expression of photographic works from the aesthetic point of view.

(1) Photographic works should have visual impact effect.

Photography itself is a technology to record objective things in a specific time and space, and there is no aesthetic art in objective things. Therefore, in order to make photography artistic and present aesthetic effect, we must first make the shot picture have a certain visual impact effect. Whether recording magnificent rivers and mountains, telling the noise of the city or shooting on the spot, every photo embodies the photographer's instant touch, joy, sadness or helplessness to life, and conveys the photographer's emotional experience through the visual experience of the photographic works. A successful work can often skillfully use the picture setting to arouse the inner resonance of the viewer, thus achieving the transmission of beauty. For example, Nikon's award-winning work "The Eye of the Pollen Bee" observes the world from the perspective of bees, and lets us experience the magical power of nature with exquisite pictures carved by nature, while listening to the sounds of insects while appreciating, inspiring our inner resonance of cherishing ecology and protecting the environment. In short, if photography wants to achieve artistic aesthetic effect, it must first achieve a sense of visual impact when choosing shooting content.

(B) the embodiment of the emotional value of photographic works

In addition to visual impact, the aesthetic art of photographic works is also reflected in the true expression of emotional value. The so-called emotional value is the photographer's meaning and interest in objective things. The most common is natural landscape photography, which expresses admiration and love for nature through gurgling water, handsome peaks, flowers, insects, birds and animals, vast oceans and vast starry sky, and expresses sadness through autumn leaves withering, winter snow chilling, and post-war ruins and continuous artillery fire. Emotional value is the most important form in which photography can exert its artistry. Appreciating a photographic work can make readers taste the feelings contained in it and get a spiritual collision, which is the enjoyment brought by art. Therefore, if a photographic work wants to become an art and bring people beautiful enjoyment, the photographer needs to include certain emotional value in the work.

(3) The sublimation of people's thoughts brought by photographic works.

The aesthetic angle of photography art should not only fully ensure the aesthetic feeling and emotional value of the picture, but also bring the sublimation of people's thoughts. The sublimation of thought is a higher level embodiment of the artistry of photographic works. The above-mentioned photographic work "Pollen Bee's Eye" achieves the aesthetic feeling of the picture, expresses the author's admiration for natural art, and reminds people to pay attention to the living environment from the perspective of ideological sublimation. Another quite shocking work is Syrian boy Courdie, which was shot on a beach in southern Turkey. The picture shows the body of a young child lying on a vast and quiet sea. The photos are in sharp contrast with the seemingly sleepy innocence of the beach and boys and the extensive display of the sea. It has quickly become the most shocking and cruel picture in the world since the outbreak of the European refugee crisis, causing worldwide shock and bringing international reflection on the war. This is the power of photography. Therefore, from the aesthetic point of view, the artistic display and expression of photographic works need to bring people's thoughts to sublimation.

Four. abstract

Photography is the art of recording specific time and time with photographic equipment and giving full play to its sense of reality and special sensory experience. This paper first briefly introduces photography, then analyzes its characteristics, and finally analyzes its expression techniques from the aesthetic point of view. Specifically, it mainly expounds three aspects: enhancing the visual impact of photography, giving photography a certain emotional value, and sublimating people's thoughts. It is believed that with the progress of science and technology, photography will be more and more accepted and loved by people, and excellent photographic works will be created by people. The trend of convenience and popularization of photography has become an important means for people to express their emotional thoughts and convey artistic beauty.
