Nanxun Gate is one of the six gates of Yinchuan ancient city, and it is the only well-preserved gate building so far. People used to call it "South Gate Building". Located at the intersection of Nanxun Road and Zhongshan South Street in the old city of Yinchuan. The gatehouse faces south, and there is an open square in front, which is the place where major celebrations and gatherings are held in Yinchuan. Nanxun Gate is 27.5 meters high. The brick abutment is 7m high, 88m long and 24.5m wide. There is a north-south arch doorway in the middle wall of abutment. There are symmetrical steps on both sides of the doorway in the north of the abutment, which can be climbed up. In the center of the high pedestal, there is a two-story pavilion with double eaves at the top of Xieshan Mountain, which is 20.5 meters high. The whole building has a rigorous structure, painted eaves, red walls and blue tiles, and is known as "Little Tiananmen Square". Nanxun Gate was built in an unknown age. According to legend, Li Deming, the leader of Tangut in Xixia, moved the capital from Lingzhou (Lingwu) to Huaiyuan (Yinchuan) on 1020, and built it during the palace expansion and city expansion. During the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty, Ningxia Acropolis was rebuilt, and it was recorded that "Nanxun was built in the south of Japan". In the third year of Qing Qianlong (1739), a major earthquake occurred, the whole city was destroyed and the city gates collapsed. Qianlong was rebuilt in five years, and it was called "South Building autumn scenery". In the third year of Xuantong in Qing Dynasty (19 1 1), Nanxun Gate was destroyed by war. It resumed in the early years of the Republic of China. 1953, the people's government demolished the east and west walls of Nanxun Gate and opened the south gate. 1979, observation decks were built on both sides of the gatehouse, and flowers and trees were planted in the north and south. After many repairs, Nanxun Gate is more magnificent against the background of modern buildings around it. 1985 is listed as a cultural relic protection unit in Yinchuan.
