The difference between 20 17 and 1960 is 57 years. Although 57 years is only a short moment in the long river of history-but it is an upside-down moment, many people can't understand why 57 years ago, the rapid development of productive forces made it difficult for us to understand many things 57 years ago.

For example, the railways from Wang Bai, No, Tangwang and Wang Du to Renhou Town, that is, the railway from Wang Du Town in Tangxian County to Renhou Town in Tangxian County, are difficult to build.

The mileage from Wang Du to Tangxian County is18km, which is a vast plain, so it seems that the workload is not great. But technology is not a simple problem.

Survey and design

Twenty-five graduate interns from Beijing Railway Institute undertook the survey task of Wang Du-Tangxian 18km railway when they were young.

1960, they are in the fourth year of college. They are Grade 57 students, that is, they were born in 1934- 1939. If they were alive now, they would be 80 years old. Do they still remember the Tangwang Railway investigated during their internship before graduation?

Have they ever been back?

2. Subgrade engineering.

Earthwork138,700 cubic meters, 28,300 working days, 5.82 cubic meters per working day. 18 km, with an average of 7.7 cubic meters per linear meter.

According to the recent earthwork quota of the Ministry of Communications, it takes 1, 8 1 man-day to manually dig and transport 20m ordinary soil, and a man-day is 5.52m3.. This shows that the quota of the Ministry of Communications is basically accurate. We can imagine that at the turn of winter and spring in 1960, in the first month of 12, thousands of migrant workers across the line were waving red flags-

The problem of earthwork is well solved. According to the history of Hebei local railway, it is no problem for 900 migrant workers to complete it in more than one month from the twelfth day of the first month to three or two months before the spring sowing, even if it includes compaction.

To tell the truth, this kind of earthwork and this kind of construction technology-but it was also very good at that time, especially when we had mechanical rolling equipment and tractor-driven stone mill!

The roadbed is finished, but-

There are still problems in the follow-up What about sleepers, especially rails and fasteners?

3. Sleepers

The slogan "People's Railway is for the people and the needed materials are given to every village" looks very tall. Actually, it is not that easy to operate. Wang Du needs 32,000 sleepers to reach Tangxian County. The size of the narrow gauge 762mm railway sleeper is18cmx14cmx150cm. In rural areas, it is not easy to find such good wood, and it has to be sent to the designated place one by one and placed on the subgrade.

Many times, I don't believe that "to every village", the secretary of the brigade can have such consciousness.

Nine communes in Cao Zhuang, Chengguan (Wang Du), Renhou, Beiluo, Dayang, Gaochang, Baihe, Juncheng and Lichuan undertook the task of providing sleeping berths. On average, each commune needs to provide nearly 4,000 sleepers, and each village needs to provide 100-200 sleepers, and then implement them to households, which is actually 1 sleeper per household.

The quality of sleepers is average, but it's really not easy!

According to the book, people in Tang County generally say that wood is used to repair railways, some are called storage materials, some are planed without storage materials, and some are purlins who make selfless contributions to railway construction-haha, I think of an episode before the road maintenance fee was changed to tax.

1At the end of 1990s, even in the relatively developed Jiaodong area, both the national and provincial trunk highways and the county and township branch highways, the subgrade works of highways were built with the help of "migrant workers", that is, the rural people paid for the work, that is, the stones and gravel at the pavement base-the pavement subbase with "flushing stones and filling sand" was mostly used at that time-and rural people needed tractors, ox carts and even trolleys to push them onto the construction sites and highways. So I can imagine the spectacular scene when Wang Du went to Renhou Town to build a road. At that time, it was difficult for township cadres and village cadres, but farmers were really bitter and tired!

After the road is repaired, we still have to collect road maintenance fees from rural people. It can be said that we should thank every China leader who started the reform and opening up from the chief designer Deng. They all went in the right direction, so we have a happy life today. To tell the truth, twenty years ago, I didn't dare to think that my wife and I could each have a decent private car. At that time, the road maintenance fee per vehicle 1 10/ month was simply unbearable for us with a monthly income of only four or five hundred yuan!

4. Track casting

Orbit is really a big problem. Not counting fastening fasteners, the required steel is not too much. According to the rail calculation of Northeast Forest Railway 15kg/ m, the main line18 *1000 * 2 *15 = 540,000 kg, or 540 tons. What is 540 tons of steel? Check the drawings casually. The steel consumption of a prestressed slab bridge with a width of120m16m is 320 tons. It seems that the steel consumption of a small high-rise building with two units is more than this, which is really nothing!

In 20 16, our steel output was165438+38 million tons, which was 19 1 0/20 times-we all know 1959 and/kloc-0. How can there be extra steel for the little wife and the children adopted by the narrow gauge local railway?

You can only make it yourself, not steel, but cast it with pig iron-that waste, that quality, you know, I know.

Earth blast furnace for ironmaking-this is no problem. There is a coalfield near Tangxian Iron Mine. Ironmaking is also a process for hundreds of years, but what about casting rails?

Casting rails is a technical job, but our Tangxian factory not only has no equipment for casting rails, but also has never seen workers who cast rails! The track has a large volume, uses a lot of molten iron and requires straightness, so the sand box is a big problem. Fortunately, our workers have the strength, and finally solved a lot of technical problems, and produced 2-3 meters long 1 100 tons of cast iron rail 16 kilometers. Look at the quality. Is it a little rough? It is not easy! ~

This kind of rail has many defects, one is that it is not strong enough to break easily, and the other is that the grinding wheel is too hard-hehe, let's talk about it next time!

In fact, it is really a waste, and there is no way to waste it. It uses more steel than 1 times-and the cast rail is short! The normal track length is 10.5 meters, but we only have 2-3 meters. What do we use a lot? There are many fasteners, such as splints. For normal track 18km, 7,200 splints are enough, but we need more than 30,000! ! There are also several times as many screws and spikes. And it's solved. We don't do anything else about the oven lathe in the county. It's all done! ! Handicraft production, as you can imagine, is difficult.

But we did it!

You did a good job.

Next is the track-laying operation-that's all for today, let's preview it. The title of the next article is "The Story of Wangbai Railway (3) The Happiness of Wang Du-Tangxian Railway Opening to Traffic"

In QQ space, my official WeChat account was launched simultaneously with the title "Let's do nothing with the forest". Welcome attention. Thank you.
