Both thermal cameras and infrared cameras can image at night. Is the principle the same?

Thermal imager mainly relies on lens to detect thermal energy, focal plane imaging and temperature difference to find targets. Infrared camera is a low illumination CCD camera. Coupled with 805nm infrared (invisible to the naked eye) lighting assistance, it becomes a so-called night vision device, not bright lighting!
