How to make a beautiful magical reflection?

Reflection is a very common photographic subject. When the white clouds, magnificent buildings and beautiful gardens in the sky are clearly reflected in the water with water as the mirror and the ground as the boundary, the natural symmetry of fiction and fact is particularly beautiful and refreshing. How to make a good reflection and make it distinctive?

1. Choosing the right weather is very important. If you want to shoot a clear and beautiful reflection, try to choose windless weather to ensure that the water surface is flat and not blown by the wind. In addition, it is best to choose sunny days with rich colors in the sky, and the blue sky and white clouds will increase the momentum of the reflection works. When the light is not bright on a cloudy day, it will be depressing to take a reflection. Generally speaking, it is only suitable for shooting some sketches, but not for big scenes. Of course, this weather is not absolute. If you want to express a cloudy special environment, cloudy days are also the best choice.

It is very important to choose the best time. The best time to shoot reflections is in the morning and evening. At this time, the angle between sunlight and the horizontal plane is relatively small, and the light is relatively soft. Generally, sidelight shooting is the main method. In order to shoot the reflection of rosy clouds at sunrise and sunset, you can also shoot against the light.

3. Composition by golden section method. When shooting a reflection, the horizontal line of the ground plane should not be placed in the center of the picture, and the composition should be made with the golden line, and the horizontal line should be placed in the upper third or the lower third of the picture, which makes the work look dull. When shooting, it is not necessary to shoot all the reflections in the water.

4. Clever use of gradient gray filter. Generally speaking, the reflection in water is 2-3 times darker than the color of the ground or sky. Therefore, in actual shooting, we can use gradient gray filter to balance the exposure between water and effectively prevent overexposure.

5. Polarizer. The water surface will reflect light like a mirror, which will have a certain impact on shooting. In order to eliminate the influence of reflected light on the lens, we can use a polarizer and turn it until we find a balance point, so as to eliminate excess reflected light and enhance the reflection effect. Of course, if the polarizer is used improperly, it will also weaken the reflection effect. Therefore, we must use it carefully and adjust it to the best position to achieve the best shooting effect.

6. Flexible use of white balance. If there are no white clouds in the sky, there is only a blue sky, then we can use the low color temperature such as fluorescent white balance to enhance the blue of the sky and shoot works full of blue artistic conception; If the sky is hot, in order to highlight its red color, we can use shadow white balance to enhance the red color of clouds and make a passionate work.
