Is it better to use flash or fill light to take photos?

A flash, as the name implies, can only flash for a moment.

At present, the mainstream flashlight is xenon lamp, which is widely used in various cameras and independent professional flashlights. Xenon flash is not widely used in mobile phones, and once it is used, it will be promoted as a selling point. If you pay attention, it's not hard to find.

Everything else is LED fill light. In principle, there is no LED flash, because there is no need for LED light source to emit light instantly, which is technically difficult.

The LED fill light can be continuously lit for a period of time. Because there is no need for long-term lighting when taking pictures, it is generally around 1 second. Some merchants also call it "flash" (in fact, the light-emitting time of xenon flash is within 1/60).

From the brightness point of view, the brightness of LED fill light for mobile phones is similar to that of miniature LED flashlights on the market, which can generally illuminate the scenery within 3 meters, so it is best not to exceed 2 meters to ensure the shooting quality. Xenon lamp camera phone can generally use about 5 meters.

Double LED lamp, with an extra light bulb, is a little brighter, but it is still not as good as xenon lamp.

However, LED lights also have their own advantages, that is, they can continuously emit light like a flashlight and can also play a role in shooting videos. Xenon lamps are useless for video.
