The bottom of a reservoir in Heyuan is suspected to be an ancient house. What happened?

The reason is that there is drought and little rain in Longchuan County, Heyuan, Guangdong Province, and the water level of Fengshuba Reservoir drops. There are square walls suspected of ancient buildings at the bottom of the reservoir, and Heyuan Museum immediately sent experts to the site to check. It is reported that the ancient building is Hakka Dragon House, with dozens of buildings. Moreover, about 5 meters away from the site, there are scattered 10 pieces of round cake-shaped pottery products. These pottery products are engraved with words in the middle. After identification, it was initially identified as a pottery cake in the Western Han Dynasty and was buried with the ancient tomb.

The excavation of these pottery cakes in the Han Dynasty is the first archaeological discovery in Heyuan and belongs to precious ancient cultural relics. This may help us to know more about Furukawa Dragon's funeral culture and coin culture, which is of great value in human history and scientific research. Not only that, the pottery cake is also a proof of the blending of Central Plains culture and Lingnan culture.

Why did you find Hakka Dragon House? Heyuan Hakka culture has a long history. This is the earliest place where Hakkas lived and one of the important cradles of Hakka culture. For thousands of years, Hakkas in Heyuan have settled in Dongjiang Valley, forming a unique Hakka culture with Dongjiang as its emotional link. Due to the influence of Hakka culture, Heyuan residential buildings are a group of traditional residential buildings with clan and family as the unit, but most of the houses are Hakka residential buildings such as Longwu, Siheyuan, Siheyuan and Diaojiaolou. Among them, the dragon circle in Heyuan area is mainly half-moon. Through the local people shooting the wall of the house in the water, we can clearly see that the house is in a half-moon shape.

This is not the first time that Heyuan has discovered ancient underwater buildings. Some time ago, the water level of Lvwan Lake dropped for several months, and dozens of Hakka ancient architecture sites and ancient kiln sites were rediscovered. Not only that, but also three complete Ming Dynasty black glazed pottery pots, A Qing stone weights, and a batch of fragmentary pottery and porcelain fragments in the late Neolithic period were found beside Lvwan Lake. This shows that as early as the late Neolithic period, there were people living on both sides of Jiangdong and Xinfeng River in Dongyuan County. These unearthed cultural relics play an important role in studying the customs and habits of ancient humans.
