Content of oleander works

1965 In the spring, after the National Land Reclamation Conference was held in Zhanjiang by the Central Land Reclamation Department, a friend came back and said, "Zhanjiang is really beautiful, the water is blue, the streets are neat and clean, and oleanders are planted on the tree-lined roads on both sides. When we went there, it had already blossomed, with leaves like bamboo leaves and flowers like azaleas, which were found on almost every street. You see, the blue river is bright red.

I heard for the first time that oleander was planted on the tree-lined road. Common oleanders are planted in large flowerpots, and only one person is tall. How high will it be in the street? Flowers are much bigger than azaleas. How beautiful it would be to plant oleanders on all the streets.

Therefore, in my mind, Zhanjiang and oleander are connected and can't be separated anymore. I have been longing for Zhanjiang for a long time.

In March of this year, I finally had the opportunity to go to Zhanjiang, and naturally I wanted to see the boulevard composed of oleander.

Zhanjiang Port Authority put us in the newly-built but unfinished five-story "Xiashan Hotel".

I walked to the fifth floor of Xiashan Hotel and immediately looked out of the corridor window. In the distance is blue Zhanjiang, and there are many lightning rods on the roof nearby. Later, I heard that Leizhou Peninsula where Zhanjiang is located is famous for its thunder.

I looked at the window for a long time and found no oleander.

Of course, I didn't go to Zhanjiang to see oleander. My task is to visit Zhanjiang Port.

Comrade Zhang, deputy director of the Port Authority, came to see us, lit a cigarette and talked a few words. He squeezed time out of a meeting place. He is a northerner and full of praise for Zhanjiang: "We can do very well here, and we don't need artificial islands. The harbor is deep and the river is wide, so it is no problem to set up 100 berths on the shore. There is no need to build a breakwater here. Rain or shine, the water here is always blue. It is a clear water port, a deep water port and a safe haven. It's not cold in winter and not hot in summer. I'm from Three Fireplaces (Nanjing, Wuhan, Chongqing), and it's much better here. This is the southernmost port of Chinese mainland coastline, with convenient import and export, and it is also a good place from the map. The sailors said,' The water in Zhanjiang is delicious.' "

Finally, he screwed the cigarette butt into the ashtray and added, "Zhanjiang is a natural port. Premier Zhou has been here, and he said Zhanjiang is "Qingdao in the south". General Chen Yi was here, too. He said that Zhanjiang is the' Geneva of China'. "

One is "Qingdao in the South" and the other is "Geneva in China", all of which say that Zhanjiang is beautiful.

On the way to the "Sailor Club" for dinner, the sidewalk was not clean, but jackfruit was planted, and the fruit was very big, but it was not mature yet. I don't know what it tastes like. There are palm trees, but no oleander.

In order to find the historical traces of Zhanjiang, we visited two old workers. One is Zheng Nanshan, a native of Zhanjiang, 59 years old this year. The other is Chen Yaxiang, a native of Haikang County, who is also 5 1 year old. In addition to them, there is a young Zhanjiang Yang Zhenhong, who changed jobs from the Air Force. He is engaged in propaganda work in the port authority.

The conversation was rambling. It's like tearing down an old sweater, finding the thread and pulling it for a while, and finding the thread again-talking intermittently and thinking. At the beginning, he said, "1898, it has been 8 1 year since the French landed.

"When we were young, Zhanjiang was just a small pier more than a mile long. We can only dock at the pier of wooden sailboat trestle with less than 30 tons, loading and unloading goods by barge, and more than 200 dockers carry them on their shoulders. Taking "Inch Golden Bridge" as the boundary, it is divided into "foreign boundary" (French concession) and "Tang boundary" (China District).

"Dongshan Island and Wozhou Island at the mouth of Zhanjiang are all French. We fought the French and drove them out of the golden bridge.

"The French opened a Wan Li company in Zhanjiang, which is gambling. There are opium dens selling opium, and one shipment of opium can earn several shipments of gold and silver. France earns1600,000 Saigon dollars from opium every year.

"At that time, the total population was less than fifty thousand, but there were more than one thousand prostitutes.

"Mitsui and Mitsubishi of Japan are also doing business in Zhanjiang.

"The French, Japanese and Kuomintang ruled Zhanjiang for half a century. There is only one power plant, a match factory, a hand-woven factory and a small factory that makes firecrackers.

"At that time, Zhanjiang workers were very bitter:

A crossbar, two ropes,

It's hard to sleep on the street. ...

"The old wharf in the past is now the first operation area. At that time, there were sugarcane fields, sweet potato fields and graves of the dead, and bandits often appeared. No one dares to go at five or six in the afternoon.

"There is also an execution ground, and the bodies are thrown on the beach. There are often floating objects at sea.

"The workers in Zhanjiang have all fled from all over the country.

"Seafarers have a revolutionary tradition. The work of the Party began in the 1920s. The first branch of Guangzhou Bay was established in 1939.

"1950 began to have its own pilot.

"After liberation, many new buildings were built and roads were built. Oleander, palm, jackfruit and coconut were planted on the tree-lined road, but the coconut planted in Hainan Island did not bear fruit in Zhanjiang. Note: The coconut trees in Zhanjiang can bear fruit, but they were too tender to bear fruit at that time.

"At that time, the streets in Zhanjiang were very clean, and oleanders were opened, which was more beautiful.

"Zhanjiang's population has increased to 400,000, making it the seventh largest port in China. There are chemical plants, machinery factories, machinery factories, sugar factories, canneries ... thousands of workers. Run a water conservancy college, a medical college and a meteorological secondary school.

"The most prosperous city now is the beach with messy bones in the past."

Zheng Nanshan started by herding sheep babies, and now he is the chief dispatcher in Hong Kong. Chen Yaxiang is now the deputy director of the first operation area office, responsible for the technical guidance of portal crane maintenance.

The port authority arranged for us to visit the first operation area first. We go to the first operation area by boat. This wharf has five berths, which are responsible for the import and export of grain, fertilizer, cement and groceries. This dock can berth 50,000-ton freighters and has a warehouse of 50,000 square meters. There are 15 gantry cranes and more than 3,200 workers. The annual throughput is 2.3 million tons to 2.5 million tons.

Zhanjiang is a port connected with Europe. 1966 premier Zhou instructed: "Zhanjiang port should be built to support the world revolution."

The most difficult period for port construction is from 1968 to 1969. Many workers went out to "make a revolution", and those who didn't leave continued to work.

The imported technology was also interfered by anarchism and could not be used.

The phosphate wharf is designed in 1970. We didn't agree to the I-shaped plan, and we didn't see the calculation sheet. Without the approval of the Ministry of Communications, the chief engineer started work without signing. People who don't listen to the chief engineer say what they dare to think and do, which is actually anarchy. As a result, the beam broke and it took two years to strengthen it. A total loss of more than 600,000. What is this called "the design unit should manage"?

There is also duplication between bridge crane and portal crane. The door crane leaks on both sides, which is very polluted.

Phosphate wharf belongs to the third operation area.

This work area was disturbed by the Gang of Four. What do you mean, "worshipping foreign things" and "greedy for foreign things"? The hat flew in, the dock was built, and the equipment made in Shanghai could not come.

The Gang of Four's "Be the master of the dock, not the slave of tonnage" is blowing, and the phenomenon of "pressing the ship" often occurs. Phosphate rock can't be transported out, which affects agricultural production.

1973, there is too much backlog of foreign goods. Premier Zhou instructed: "Change the appearance of the port in three years". Everyone cheered like thunder. Zhanjiang Port has successively developed the second and third operation areas (the latter operation area was designed in 1970).

We came to the second homework area.

There is a 23,000-ton Greek ship moored on the dock. There are also cargo ships from Canada and Australia in this dock.

We didn't go far, and a 20,000-ton Panamanian "Cecira" was moored there.

There are 19 gantry cranes in this work area, the largest of which is made in Italy.

A boat took me to the oil terminal.

There are 50,000-ton oil terminals, 1000-ton oil terminals and1500m crude oil terminals.

A 70,000-ton tanker "Daqing" is moored nearby.

A Panamanian "Aaron" crossed the sea. ...

This working area is used for oil transshipment. If the port is deepened, it can accommodate 2.4 million tons. The annual throughput is 7.6 million tons.

The third operation area used to be an island, but now it has been filled into a peninsula by manpower.

There are eighteen gantry cranes here, and the throughput reached 9.5 million tons last year.

Comrades of the Port Authority said: "Zhanjiang is the seventh port in China. Last year, 240 ships from 16 countries docked, including Japan, Somalia, the Soviet Union, Greece, Panama, Britain, the Netherlands, Sweden, France, Liberia, Romania, Yugoslavia and Pakistan. ...

"Ocean loading and unloading has a specified time, there are rewards and punishments, loading and unloading is slow, and it will cost six or seven thousand yuan a day. The same is true for chartering.

"Last year, Hong Kong made a profit of 21530,000 yuan."

Today, there is no wind or waves on the river. The small ship we booked went straight back and forth for 16 nautical miles, returned to the first operation area, and everyone went ashore.

I did see the magnificent scenery of "Qingdao in the South" and "Geneva in China".

However, to my regret, I have never seen an oleander-a red oleander, just like an oleander in the street. When and by whom were they cut? Who hates beautiful women?

I have been wondering in my heart.
