Jumping spider is a very good pet, because it is harmless to human beings, and it is good at jumping and ornamental. Although the process of catching jumping spiders is interesting, you must remember that keeping jumping spiders means taking them away from their natural living environment, which is immoral. If you plan to catch jumping spiders from your yard or a nearby park, you must provide them with a safe and comfortable living environment. After a short time, you should put them back to nature.

Part 1: catching jumping spiders

1, identify jumping spiders. You must know what jumping spiders look like to catch them successfully. Take time to understand the characteristics of jumping spiders, so that you can find them. The characteristics of jumping spider include: it has eight eyes. There are two big eyes on the face, two small eyes and two pairs of similar eyes on the top of the head.

Some colors are very bright. Male jumping spiders have bright jewel-colored stripes.

With fangs.

Some are covered with fluff.

2. Search for jumping spiders. When you come to the yard or garden, keep your eyes open, and maybe you will find jumping spiders. Jumping spiders prey on general insects, so they may appear in most environments. Jumping spiders can survive in many climatic conditions, from tropical rain forests to temperate forests. Note that jumping spiders can't weave webs, which is different from most spiders.

Jumping spiders track their prey with their feet. When you find them, these little guys either jump or walk on the grass or jump from one plant to another.

3. Force the jumping spider to appear with a small stick. Sometimes if you are lucky, you can find jumping spiders passing in front of you when you walk on the road. In most cases, you have to work hard to find them, such as forcing the hidden jumping spider out with a small stick. Find a medium-length wooden stick to beat the plant. When you go out to look for jumping spiders, take a stick with you.

Hit the plants with a stick. For example, when you pass a bush, take out a wooden stick and tap it gently on the bush.

Spiders hiding in bushes will jump out for fear of sudden vibration. Don't push too hard, or the animals hiding in the vegetation will get hurt.

4. Put the spider in a small bottle. You need to control the captured spider. Small bottles are the best choice. Take some of these bottles with you when you go out to catch spiders. The length of the bottle should not be less than 5 cm, so that the spider has enough room to move. Plastic bottles or glass bottles are ok, but there must be a lid.

Glass jars or plastic containers can also be used to hold spiders. Before catching spiders, you must clean the container and dry it thoroughly.

5. Beware of jumping spiders. It is generally believed that jumping spiders are not dangerous, but most scientists believe that the toxicity of these creatures needs more careful study. In a word, whether jumping spiders are poisonous has not been confirmed. Gently push the jumping spider into the bottle with the bottle cap. For extra protection, you can wear thick gloves.

Part 2: Pay attention to jumping spiders

1. Create a safe living environment for jumping spiders. Jumping spiders can survive well in various environments. In order to ensure that the jumping spider has enough jumping space, prepare a container with a volume of not less than 28 cubic centimeters. Glass or plastic feeding boxes can be used to feed jumping spiders. The cover of the feeding box must have small air holes to ensure sufficient air flow in the box.

Jumping spiders don't weave webs, but they like to rest in their nests. Prepare materials to build a "bed" for jumping spiders, such as rags and napkins.

Don't let the sun shine directly on the feeding box, or the jumping spider will die of heat.

2. Feed the jumping spider. Jumping spiders eat all kinds of bugs. You can feed it flies or crickets. If you don't want to catch bugs yourself, go to a pet store and buy them. Jumping spiders don't have to eat every day, just feed them once every two or three days.

Spiders don't need to drink much water. Just spray it on the inner wall of the feeding box with a watering can every few days.

When feeding, throw the worms directly into the feeding box. Jumping spiders will pounce and enjoy the food.

3. Interact with jumping spiders. Like most spiders, jumping spiders don't like being touched, so in most cases, try to avoid touching. If you really need to move the jumping spider, carefully push it into the cup with a piece of plastic or something. You can still enjoy raising jumping spiders. Like watching them jump around in the container. If you gently slide your fingers along the inner wall of the feeding box, some jumping spiders will chase your fingers and climb forward. This kind of interaction seems to be fun, but the main purpose is to maintain the activity of jumping spider and ensure that it has normal vision and predation ability.

You can occasionally take the jumping spider outside the feeding box and put it on the table to watch it jump. Be careful not to lose the jumping spider!

4. Observe the jumping spider and make records. Jumping spider is a very interesting pet. You can record the time and quantity of food they eat, as well as the changes in color or size. Maybe you will find some interesting behavior patterns. You can also record the sleeping time of jumping spiders. Put a small notebook next to the feeding box. When you find any interesting phenomenon, you can record it immediately.

Tip: If jumping spiders hide, don't disturb them.

Stress may cause jumping spiders to die, so be careful not to frighten them or move them frequently. If jumping spiders seem to be sleeping, never disturb them.

Put the jumping spider in a strong and warm feeding box and feed it once every two days. Put some branches with leaves in the box, so that jumping spiders can climb up and jump from branch to branch. You should also pay attention to the feeding situation of jumping spiders.

Jumping spiders may jump on the inner wall of plastic, glass or other materials, so the feeding box must have a cover.

The feeding box must be deep to prevent jumping spiders from jumping out when feeding.

Don't often move the habitat of jumping spiders.

Warning not to pour food or water directly on the jumping spider, which will cause the jumping spider to suffocate and die. Food and water should be put in the corner of the feeding box.

If you are bitten by a jumping spider, keep calm and go to the hospital immediately. Panic can't solve the problem.
