Photography skills for taking simple and profound photos
(A) learning to "use a fixed-focus lens"
In the theme of "training the photographer's eyes", the fixed-focus lens is very helpful, because the fixed-focus lens can't zoom at will (zoom is near zoom), so you can not only walk around more to find a better angle and subject, but also the fixed-focus lens usually has a large aperture, which makes it easier to create a shallow depth of field. Another point is that many fixed-focus lenses are small and easy to carry, which also gives them more motivation to practice shooting. So don't underestimate the position of fixed-focus lens in learning photography!
The fixed-focus lens is small in size and light in weight, which is very suitable for practicing photography.
(b) Learn to "throw away what you don't want"
Photography is subtraction, that is, all unnecessary things are excluded from the reader's sight. You can discard unnecessary things from different angles, heights and distances, which can make the photos more concise and easy to understand. Sometimes if the background is really messy and there is no way to change it, try to simplify the background by backlighting, calendering or the simplest shallow depth of field.
(3) Learn to tell only one story in a photo.
One way to make a photo look deep is to tell a story through it. Before pressing the camera shutter, think about what title can be added to this photo and what others will associate with it. If we want to achieve this goal, we suggest that students can make the photos highlight a clear subject from the beginning, here is one, not two or three … because only one subject can not only simplify the photos, but also make readers concentrate, and it is easier to grasp the story behind them when shooting!
(D) Learn to "make good use of simple composition"
There are many simple compositions you can use, such as the classic trisection, frame composition, guide line and middle composition, which is enough for you to practice. Of course, you can also use color, size, distance and other comparative composition methods, but it is suitable for advanced students.
