How to shoot a portrait with correct facial features?

People's five senses usually refer to the organs on the face, but in figure photography, the main eye type, mouth type and nose type can play an important role in facial expressions.

1, eye shape

People's eyes have different shapes, generally including big eyes, small eyes, single eyelids, double eyelids, tiger eyes (round), phoenix eyes (long eyelids), upside-down eyes (figure-eight), triangular eyes (triangle), a big eye and a small eye. The eye-shaped structure exists objectively. When taking pictures, you can adopt different visual directions, foster strengths and avoid weaknesses, so as to make your eyes look good.

face

Refers to the line of sight of the eyes at right angles to the facial plane, which can show the overall shape of the eyes, has the effect of solemnity, seriousness and closeness, and is suitable for showing the already beautiful eye shape.

squint

Refers to the deviation of the eye's line of sight from the facial plane, which can produce a sense of "movement" and cover up the defect of incorrect eye use (commonly known as cross-eyed). Strabismus can also reflect a joyful and serious expression, giving people implicit associations.

Gaoshi

Refers to the eyes whose line of sight is higher than the lens, which can show the look of looking up and enlarge.

overlook

Refers to the downward movement of the line of sight, including two situations: slightly revealing the eyes or not revealing the eyes. It has static expression effect and is often used to shape plots such as meditation, reading and writing. This visual direction can cover up eye features such as small eyes, tiger eyes, triangular eyes, phoenix eyes, one big eye and one small eye to a certain extent, and can also fully show eyelashes.

Myopia and hyperopia

In figure photography, the mastery of sight distance includes two different situations: seeing near and seeing far. The former is called "myopia", which must be related to the eyes (such as reading books and flowers). ), so that the eye shape can be vivid and vivid. The latter is called "farsightedness", which is a mental state reflecting broad prospects and far-reaching goals.

In addition, for the treatment of one big eye and one small eye, in addition to the "myopia" mentioned above, the side angle can be used to make up for it in two ways: first, the small eye is close to the lens and covered by the principle of lens imaging; The second method is to make the big eyes close to the lens and focus on the big eyes, so that the small eyes are slightly blurred to maintain the beautiful characteristics of the big eyes, and the effect is better than the first compensation method.

2. Mouth shape

There are many shapes of the mouth, such as diamond corners, upturned corners, thick lips, neat or defective teeth, hidden or exposed teeth, etc. , according to different situations, respectively:

Show the mouth shape through the shooting angle

No matter the shooting angle is high, low and flat, it can easily perform well in the mouth shape of diamond or thin lips. For the mouth shape with unsightly corners, low-angle shooting can be used to weaken the warping degree from perspective. For the mouth with downward curvature, high-angle shooting can also weaken the curvature from perspective. Thick lips can also be reduced to some extent through high-angle framing. If the corner of the mouth is high or low, we can also make the upturned side of the corner of the mouth close to the camera by lying on our side, so as to make up for this defect from the perspective.

Show the shape and internal shape of the mouth from the expression.

If the teeth are neat and white, the grinning expression can not only show the inner joy, but also increase the aesthetic feeling of the subject; But for people with irregular teeth or exposed teeth, it is advisable to grind their teeth to avoid exposing defects.

3. Head

In figure photography, the nose shape of the subject is treated with the nostril as the focus. If the nostrils are too exposed (commonly known as "nose facing the sky"), or the nose tip covers the nose shape of the nostrils, it will damage the beauty of the face. Therefore, the former should shoot from a high angle and cover some nostrils with the alar; For the latter, a low angle of 2 should be adopted to expose some nostrils. This can beautify the nose shape.
