General situation of Yuxian County, Yangquan City, Shanxi Province

Yuxian County is one of the oldest counties in Shanxi Province. Yuxian County is located in the eastern basin of Shanxi Province. It was the city where the doctors of Jin were stationed in the army during the Spring and Autumn Period. The old city is located in Dayu Town in the northeast of Yangqu County. Because the mountains in the county are round, it is named the jar. The total area is 2439 square kilometers. With a total population of 290,000 (in 2004), Xiushui Town is the seat of the county people's government. Yuxian county governs 8 towns and 6 townships: Xiushui Town, Sunjiazhuang Town, Lujiacun Town, Nanlou Town, Niucun Town, Dianchi Town, Shangshe Town, Xiyan Town, Ren Xian Town, Beixiazhuang Township, Xiashe Township, Liangjiazhai Township, Panqian Township and Liang Dong Township. * * * There are 453 administrative villages.
