Guangdong Geological Surveying and Mapping Institute was established in March of 1958, and it belongs to Guangdong Geological Bureau. It is the earliest national first-class surveying and mapping team in Guangdong Province. The institute has a strong technical force, with 350 high-tech personnel, including 20 senior surveying and mapping engineers, 2 senior land and resources engineers, 45 surveying and mapping engineers, 5 land and resources engineers, environmental engineers 1 person, urban planners 1 person, 7 registered surveyors and 2 registered urban planners. It has more than 300 sets of advanced GPS, total station, level gauge, plotter, scanner, digital photogrammetry system and sounder, MAPGIS, ARC/INFO operating platform and related database building software, and 2 sets of digital mapping software 150 from CASS series in South China, Case in Guangzhou and Sunway in Tsinghua. There are Guangdong Geological Surveying and Mapping Research Institute, Guangdong Xinjiuzhou Computer Graphic Co., Ltd., Surveying and Mapping Branch, Cartography Branch, Exploration Planning Branch, Information Engineering Branch and Map Printing Branch. Can undertake engineering survey, topographic survey, control survey, real estate survey, marine survey, aerial survey, indoor (outdoor) survey, cadastral survey and database construction, engineering pipeline survey, deformation survey, digital map compilation, land use status survey and database construction, geographic information system development, land development, land remediation, land evaluation, land use master plan revision, high-standard basic farmland, urban master plan, and urban and rural construction land increase and decrease.
