Xi University for the Aged was founded in March 1995, and merged with Xi 'an Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technical School in 2002, implementing the management mode of "one team, two brands". For more than ten years, under the cordial care of the municipal party committee and the municipal government, and under the leadership of the bureau of retired veteran cadres of the municipal party committee, it has experienced three stages of "hard struggle, exploration and progress, and vigorous development".
Now we are on the road of standardization, demonstration school, scientific development and harmonious development. The city's four-level school network has been continuously improved, with more than 30 branch schools and more than 400 primary schools, with a total of more than 60,000 students.
Department settings:
The general school has five departments, including painting and calligraphy department, vocal music department, instrumental music department, literature department and comprehensive department, with more than 40 courses and more than 200 classes. The academic system is divided into six months, one year and two years. In order to cultivate high-level artistic talents, the school has also established a painting and calligraphy institute, an art institute and a photography association, a literary salon and a gourd silk association. It opens up an endless platform for students' further study. Each specialized course is 2 hours per semester 16 weeks, once a week 1 time.
In order to improve the teaching quality, the school hired nearly 100 retired professors, experts and social celebrities with profound academic attainments and rich teaching experience, and hired some young and middle-aged professors and experts to teach part-time according to actual needs. According to the characteristics of individual cultural foundation, physiological and psychological differences and diversified needs of elderly students, teaching methods such as "intensive teaching, more practice, intuition and interaction" are adopted to combine knowledge, interest and practicality to arouse students' enthusiasm.
