Xi University for the Aged was founded in March 1995, and merged with Xi 'an Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technical School in 2002, implementing the management mode of "one team, two brands". The general school has five departments, including painting and calligraphy department, vocal music department, instrumental music department, literature department and comprehensive department, with more than 40 courses and more than 200 classes. The academic system is divided into six months, one year and two years. In order to cultivate high-level artistic talents, the school has also established a painting and calligraphy institute, an art institute and a photography association, a literary salon and a gourd silk association. It opens up an endless platform for students' further study. Each specialized course is 2 hours per semester 16 weeks, once a week 1 time.
